I just wanna say you continue to inspire me, thank you for sharing your story❤️, your resilience is truly amazing! I had a similar experience in my first year, the adjustment from high school to varsity was overwhelming, and online learning made things worse. I checked out in the second semester and all I used to do was watch shows or sit by myself in the dark, that carried on for the entire semester and I had to drop FRK101 cos there was no way I was gonna write that exam, I knew nothing. Came back, thought 2021 would be better but it wasn't, I got worse, and my escape mechanism was alcohol abuse, always had wine in the fridge, I'd party after every inconvenience, at one point I started partying mid week and about 3 months later I got tired of it all, decided to call the up counselling line cos I was at the verge of jumping out of a window but I knew I had people counting on me back home and I couldn't let them down, then I started attending counselling from the SCU and it was really helpful, and with God's grace, I was able to save my academics, I am currently doing my second year and it's going quite well, yes everyday is different, but I guess that's the beauty of it.

Thanks for this it really hives me hope that i will bounce back. Can you advice me, i got excluded mid year and i applied at UJ for two degrees one of the two being the degree i failed at Wits.. so i am not sure whether i should tell UJ that i was previously studying, i am scared that they may see my results and not give me space...they already "Prov selected" me for these two degrees...but now i am scared what will happen when i get a space for these two degrees....can you help if you have that advice... Thank you ❤
