...depends on the definition of "stopping planes". and "Harpoon." Because a few AGM/UGM/RGM-84 Harpoon Missiles will stop all the airplanes on an enemy aircraft carrier you want. Stop them from hurting you. because the carrier will be at the bottom of the sea. But no, slamming a massive steel rod with a cable attached into the skin of a landing aircraft is not a good idea for said aircraft.

I mean, it would work provided they could hit the planes ... I'm just not too sure about whether they could reuse the planes afterward - or the pilots for that matter 😂

See usually the idea is to prevent planes from hitting the ship, not drag them into it

It might have been the troque lifting the front up as you tried to drive out letting the hood to be just over the water, so when you backed up it forced the hood back under

To be fair, the planes barely even hit it to begin with. Would have been better to use the same planes between rounds. Like, helicopters? What's a helicopter gonna do? That certainly ain't an upgrade. Between them and the big boy it felt like half of what had been attackers were now jokes.
