I can honestly say ... I told ya so ... the reason the drills do NOT break apart is because the bore hole actually keeps them steadier ... if it was sideways then you would need wheels to carry the weight ... which brings a whole new set of bounce as well ... a quick check to see where steve is just right click drill out from between steve and his dig buddy Harry towards tom and dick ... and make motor cycle sounds when doing it .... gotta have steve jumping that fence after all ...
@StyxRiverGynoid16 сағат бұрын
Tip for you. Share Inertia Tensors - turn this on for everything except the piston/hinge/rotor attached to the static base block(s). Also, consider putting a pillar in beside the pistons on digs like this, and have wheels come from the piston stack to the column to stabilize the stack as it moves.

I actually quite liked the stage where only relatively small openings were made at the top of the mountain sort of like a secret entrance/control center with a great view of the surrounding lands, but I’m sure Skye will end up turning it into something even more impressive with the big holes he has made.
@mandrakejakeКүн бұрын
Skye, press Shift-K to enter remote access - as long as your grid has an antenna in range of your suit then you can change things like rotor attachments from the menu, its easier with a translucent UI (set in the options)

Also the drils have a reach (radius) of a block and a half, you can do the same excavation with half the drills, especially since theyre moving slowly.

I’m predicting that it’ll work fine. Not because it should, but because you seem to have remarkable luck with clang. If I did it it would have exploded no later than when you re attached the rotor

I've been thinking about what block could look good covering the pipes in the main corridor floor and maybe glass blocks could help break it up enough to look good. You'll still see them but maybe that could look cool enough.
@PlayersAndGamers1337Күн бұрын
My first thought, landing pads on pistons like a drawer, pick the floor with the ship you want to use, send it our from Harry and/or Steve so its easy to leave and dock. I enjoy overcomplimenting stuff

You don't really need to build a cradle, an unwelded landing gear will do, long as it is as close as possible, you're fine.
@HeruKane22 сағат бұрын
Also ooh on the breaking through. Awesome. Soooo I assume you are going to create some sort of cap/dome on the top with doors and stuff. hehe. Really cool stuff. Love this series. And I hope you continue to have as much fun as it seems you are having! Sooo I am not sure if I should suggest this or not, cause it might give you more work. BUT I could see having the Central Core descend downward to the level of the ground surface of the mountain, that way ground vehicles on the ice can be launched. hehe
@HeruKane22 сағат бұрын
Sooo this is great. Also I am not done with the episode but I can't help but think that the tunnel will benefit with you building a personal and maybe vehicle elevator in one of the tunnels, or one of the walls. hehe Great stuff!

Control panels as far as the eye can see, instead of pressing k, he runs to the console with buttons. Never mind each piston has a control panel. And also for attachment purposes, if youre concerned about the speed, just work with the final piston.

Skye when you eventually do get to building a solar array, make sure you look into how you make it point towards the sun when its visible. The angle the sun hits the panels has a huge effect of efficiency. And it also looks cool to see huge solar panel contraptions move around. You can do the same with the antenna dish btw
@GrahamBaleКүн бұрын

Skye use the piston when clearing the middle one / pointy part. Add vertical drill but not spining. Instead of using the ship. Then next is like you said project and weld using it again

from my experience the wobble doesn't happen as much when the rotor is at the base and inertia tensored, you can attach piston heads too ( i think, i play with a lot of mods, so worth taking this comment with a grain of salt)

Can I suggest something to anti-wobble? A platform that holds the rotors, and two to three sets of pistons per platform with rotors. Additionally, place 'bracing bars' between pistons at the 1/4th, 2/4th, and 3/4th setup points. Basically, all the non-rotating parts are held stiffly to create a nice straight shaft while the rotating tip is free to work its magic.

I have no problem with a video every other day of Space Engineers if it means you're happy with the video you release. I'm sure others share the same sentiment.
@TNH9115 сағат бұрын
I thought that it didn't matter if the drills were full, they would still remove the material they're going through. So it _should_ have been okay to not even have a way to get rid of the stone unless you need the space for putting other resources in.

I think it's gonna reach the top & some of the drills will break.

Is it possible to use the lights to make numbers to show how high you are? 10m ,20m etc.
@ericwemmer40223 сағат бұрын
I would be afraid of a collision between the drill sections with the wobble allowing them to cross paths.
@indianasqueakz2 сағат бұрын
One thing I noticed in the last few episodes is that you didn't extend the one side of the drills to compensate for the conveyor being offset to the left by one square. You mentioned in an earlier video that the center was 2 squares wide that there wasn't a center square.
