Just a horrible driver. People who camp out in the left lane often do so because they are scared to death if they are anywhere else, namely, if they can’t see the edge of the road by their left fender, they think they are gonna drive off the edge of the earth since they can’t see their right fender. What often goes hand in hand with that is a total lack of situational awareness, only caring about how they are gonna get through the next mile without having a panic attack. I truly believe that about 15-20% of the population falls into thus category. So the van driver barely glanced around and saw no one “around”, can’t drive, but made a ridiculously wide u- turn, and then promptly returned to his left hand lane comfort zone. He’s also an idiot, and had that been a big rig, it might have been his last u turn.
@rars0n3 ай бұрын

No. I mean, not always. By lifting all the way off of the throttle, you create a massive weight transfer that throws you unpredictably. But by "staying in it," you can let the car settle down more smoothly. It's a great skill set to learn in the snow or rain.

Been racing for over 35 years, I've seen fast, really fast, stupid fast and reserve a spot at the coroners fast. The only real issue I've had is many of the racers out the have little time in the seat with cars/trucks as powerful, who understand how to handle the unexpected. They go from minor (300hp) power to insane, man that's a share and deadly learning curve. I never started with a fast car from the factory, I build mine but it gave me the time I needed to learn what I didn't know. I'm still learning. Most of these boys seem to know how to go straight really fast but I wonder what would happen if things got out of hand, someone unexpectedly got in the way. We've all seen that kind of shit, usually someone dies, often someone just driving home. Ah, I'm an old man, what do I know?

It’s not the fuel tank. It’s a water tank for the heat exchanger and intercooler, so the ice helps make the water circulating through the system cooler, and hence the intake air temp goes down. Colder air = denser air = more power per stroke

These cars can have multiple tunes that can be changed almost on the fly. Street is different than track. The point being, you can have too much power for the street, where it’s not as sticky and the lane isn’t “prepped” for racing, causing all sorts of problems for traction. They can make a pass, and tune the car up or down for the situation. And accidents happen, no matter the skill of the driver.

Respect to anyone doing what they want to their vehicles. That being said. If a person with a V8 puts as much money into its vehicle. As the person with a 4 banger built to out run a V8. The guys with V8 will always win. As long as they didn't forget the power to weight ratio. If all things are equal. With the weight vs hp. The V8 wins. What important guys made a killing on was hp to weight. This is why it's almost impossible to out run a crotch rocket with a street car. You can have 800hp car. But, if it's heavy and not set up to race. Someone with half of that with a light car. Will absolutely blow the doors off the heavy car with more hp. This is why the Fox body's still hurt people's feelings today. Light car with right setup. It's hard to beat. To each their own. But, your hatred will get you beat.
