I saw them open for Tool at Porter Hall in Ottawa, Canada on Feb 22, 1994. I still have the ticket stub and the demo cassette that they threw to me. I've been a Failure fan ever since, glad to see them back!

Discovered Failure back in '96 after hearing "Stuck On You" on the radio. I bought Fantastic Planet based on that one song and was totally blown away -- that record is a masterpiece. Bought their other two, Ken's solo stuff, Year Of The Rabbit. It's exciting to see them back together. I hope they tour and come to the D.C. area.

These two guys have a unique slant and twist to their songs that is just so alluring. It was really cool to attend the El Rey reunion show and chat with fellow fans. Everyone seemed cool and laid back with their own stories to tell. Good people. Now we'll wait for that Failure EP or album!!

Do they still have the original 4 track recordings necessary to do that? I always thought it all ended up being recorded together and that’s why they were forced to re-record the whole thing over, even though that was their plan to begin with... they didn’t allow for the possibility of using the demos... well, what do I know...

Oddly I also found them at 26. Strange...
@caiusmadison2996 Жыл бұрын
@execration_texts I wish yall would have been a youth like I was in 1996', there was a Bond film that featured "Stuck on You" as the main theme for the opener, and then this song was on a Doc Marten's Music Sampler, a gift to get you to buy their expensive sandals/boots, that co trained a mic of 10-12 songs, all current hits. It was really neat getting a pair of the sandals to rule them all, then hearing this as an extra. It was straight to Barnes and Noble to pick up Fantastic Planet, and Magnified, as a shot in the dark. One thing I found with this band, you're never disappointed, each album has bangers that have me coming back if not daily, every other day.

It's crazy. I OBSESS over Failure and their greatness, and when "The Heart is a Monster" came out, I was convinced it was nostalgia telling me how great it was, but no; it sounded just like it needed to sound to be an evolution of the band and a continuation of their sound. And then "In the Future..." came out and I was blown away by how they managed to top themselves again.

@borislavm.81487 жыл бұрын
They're totally different bands, moreover, most of Tool fans aren't actually understanding what they're listening to and it's meaning. I greatly appreciate both bands, but they're very different; no need for competitions. I guess Tool has been around for more time, won a Grammy award, has more material and so on. I guess that's why they're more famous than Failure, but after all it's great to see that more fans of Failure's music are gathering. We must appreciate every band and song independently. Like Ken said, people were obsessed with Nirvana and Pearl Jam that they didn't have the opened mindset to understand and appreciate our music.
