This video is superb. Actually I'm getting ready for my first assembly watch. I reckon putting hand watches is one of the most delicate and prompt to failure step of the whole process. So it's quite nice, to don't have pretty high expectations and more realistic approach to making mistakes and being able to enjoy the process. Thanks for your excellent videos.

Appreciate a video where the mod goes awry but still gets seen through. With caliber upgrades being a popular modification, a technical detail on 7SXX and NHXX movement spacers. Unless cased in an ISO Diver, the spacers are the same height regardless of the color. Transferring a black for a grey spacer remains necessary for the SKX line, but with a Seiko 5 a straight swap is possible.

This is a great video and refreshing in the honesty. i use a dial protector for installing hands and when applying very little pressure am at the level of the watch rather than above it. this way you can check the spacing as you go.

Yep sometimes they go right and other times they go like that ! My own experience of the dial you mentioned is similar. It looks great in the daylight but the lume is poor. So bad in fact I took it out and it now sits in the parts box.

You make it look easy I've bought a job lot of watches and there was a tubor black bay broken bezel sapphire all broken but the face hands and the movement there was no crown I've bought a real bracelet without the clip then a real clip with tudor and all the rest off writing you make it look easy.I need to find out what equipment I need and watch lots more before I attempt my first mod.

Great video. I am ironically going to be starting a very similar project, so this was spot on! Question, did you use the original crown/stem from the SNZH when you swapped the movements? Where you able to get the crown off the stock stem from the original SNZH?

Thanks! Yes I did use the original crown from the SNZH. It was stuck on there somewhat but after holding the original stem VERY firmly with some pliers, I was able to unscrew the original crown.

Dude..you did a Great job ! Heck..looks better than the real blancpain 55...are you gonna sell that watch ? The price of the snhz 53 or 55 skyrocketed on amazon to the toon of around 300 dollars tss oh well..

Thanks very much! Unfortunately I didn't keep the watch in that configuration. Its the stock dial with weak lumed planet ocean hands again (shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZrNiWyqdseVla8 only for a couple of seconds). And I feel you on those prices. I just bought an NH35 for a build and i'm now paying DOUBLE what i'd pay in 2020. Heck i just bought a raspberry Pi 4 8gb for £50 more than the MSRP just because you can't get them. It sucks, especially for someone like myself who likes to search for bargains and good deals.

I was the same with my skx009, it started with the bezel insert next thing I know the only original thing in the watch was the case. Any tips if the second hand is loose when pressed down into the nh35.

hahaha omg story of my life got a cheap skx from ebay to mod and at first I just wanted to mod the bezel ring to a 12 hour one but then I landed up changing everything but the case and bezel

It is a shame the constant background music is so annoying. Seems like content I like as I repair watches. Can't subscribe to this channel. The Intro music would be fine and then stop when you start the presentation. So many You Tubers think music is necessary, but now an identity crisis, is this an information video or a musicf video ruined by talking.

you have probably learned by know that is you use the correct size hand pusher it's near on impossible to push the hands down too much ie for the minute hand use a the pusher with the smallest hole in that way it will go down the second hand pinion and only seat the minute hand on top of it's pinnon we all live and learn that's the beauty of life ps awesome build at the end cheers
