Thanks for sharing this Daniel. Quite curious, is there a reason why you didn't opt of the Seikosis handset? Thanks.

Please use plastic when undoing/screwing cases and get a proper spring bar tool, avoids 90% of scratches😏

Oh wow, this video hits perfectly for me. I've bought some parts from SeikoMods/CrystalTimes, some parts (and especially all the tools!) from AliExpress and salvaged the rest from the leftovers from my first mod (SKX009). I'm building a Baby Tuna mod from scratch. I especially like the parts where you show how to use the crystal press (I have the same thing) and how to remove the bezel insert from the previous build. A great example of See One, Do One, Teach(?) One.

Thanks for watching! I also recommend taking a look at one of my latest videos, the GMT GS style build, to get some extra information about the correct hand pushers to use with these seiko hands/movements. Since when I made this older video, i wasn't aware. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goK3knaDe6aMl9ksi=kkrCGIb85aSzAvUo

Another amazing build. Your videos gave me the push to buy all the parts to build my own MM200 cased planet ocean style watch. Having built it, I now have an even higher level of respect for how good the watches you build are. Love the videos, and again amazing watch!

I'm not sure how good my mat is for watch making since it's just a silicone soldering mat. If you search "soldering mat" on eBay you'll find many similar ones.

I personally wouldn't have gone with a fluted bezel. I just don't like how they look. I like smooth bezels like the SARB model.

I recently did a similar thing with a silver and gold old Seiko 5 (7S36 02J0) that I bought back in 2011. The original case and strap were very beat up and the 7S36 movement was gaining 5 minutes per day. I put the dial on a new NH36 that had its day and date wheels upgraded with luminous ones. The hands are a snowflake style that really works well for the dial. I put it all in a gold SKX style case with a luminous blue bezel. It really suits the silver and gold dial nicely.

36mm watches are so under rated, they feel so good on your wrist, dial size is the same. There is a lot to be said about smaller watches. Great build, I would even wear that :D

I don’t wear anything over 38. I’m a seiko fan boy and there’s no shortage of small cases. My daily is the champagne dial SNXS81. It’s so close to a day date.

The SNK621 dial is beautiful, but I wanted to use a dial that said "Seiko Automatic" for this build, rather than a "Seiko 5" dial. I'd also might have had issues getting a suitable day disk for the SNK621 dial on an NH36, but I'm not familiar enough with it to know for certain.

Tis a lovely combination of parts, looks really nice. The jewel on dial being different to the movement would be my only OCD issue, but a beautiful watch none the less. I love the dial day/date having the silver surround a lot as well. The case and jubilee looks incredible quality as well.

Dude, you bash yourself too much. I always enjoy your videos. I'm always impressed by the end results. I hope you are keeping full builds and not having to pilfer parts from build to build. I love Seiko, but every time I see a new one I wish they had done some part different. This build is everything I would want a samurai to be that I'll never find in a watch shop. If this one you've built was in a case for sale I wouldn't think twice. Would love a vid on the current state of your build collection.

Very interesting and helpful video. I like NamokiMODS products, but I've had terrible experiences with their customer support. I order bracelet and asked about fitment and they didnt answer my email and sent out the package. The bracelet doesn't fit the case and now I have to pay for the return myself. From Europe to Singapure costs around 50€. They really need to change their return policy.

Bit harsh on the steel strap. It's great for the price. That said I stuck a 12 euro silicon waffle strap on. Lovely. No need to change the dial. A fantastic watch for the 79 Euro I paid.

Thank you, I'm enjoying your videos very much. Saw a while back, recommending cutting the bezel insert tape into two semicircles. Handy where in your case, the tape's diameter is larger than the bezel or the other way around. Also easier to handle two pieces than one full circle of tape.

I know this is old, but in case you check back. What is your thoughts on Steeldives crown not having any seals (O rings) and the crystal being void of any gasket? How are they suppose to be water resistant? I love the watch but the above mentioned is keeping me from doing any mods on it. I always look forward to your next videos. Thanks for the great content.

Brother, at 34:30 minutes, first stick the sticker completely on the ceramic insert with the inside, then take off the inner sticker and peel it off. After that I stick everything in the bezel, it works much easier every time than putting it on the bezel.

Hi mate, nice build, it's so nice that I decided to discard buying spb383 and mod something like this. Looking through you old videos I noticed that you already used mm300/200 cases. If you were to build it again, would you use GS case again or maybe switch to mm300/mm200 cases?
@ItsAnotherWatch
@ItsAnotherWatch 5 күн бұрын
Honestly, if it was a build that didn't need a chapter ring then I'd still go for an MM200 case. But as for MM300 style builds... I think i would actually go for the GS case now. Those extra lines on the case add so much to it and the bracelet is just fantastic. Heck, the bracelet alone is worth going with the GS case. But when looking at my SBDC051/MM300 case build and comparing it to the GS Style build in this video, the cases are similar enough that the only reason I see for not going for the GS case is if you want a smoother overall look since they're similar enough in size and shape. I held them up next to each other and just thought "yeah, the GS case is just a nice overall upgrade". As for the SPB383, I'd say its perfect for this GS case if you want the extra lines and details, as well as the bracelet. Since you could just do the build from this video, but with an SPB185 dial and a silver set of SPB185 hands with a yellow or gold GMT hand and a Black calendar disk. If you do end up building something like that, please come back here with links to photos as I'd love to see it!

@@ItsAnotherWatch, thanks for the reply. To be honest, I am leaning towards the exact build you did in the video-it’s impeccable! However, I’m concerned that I might be too inexperienced to replicate it myself. I would be happy to order this build from you, for an additional cost as a service, of course. If you do not create builds on request, could you recommend any reputable builders whose services I could use?
@ItsAnotherWatch
@ItsAnotherWatch 5 күн бұрын
@@happypianoboy9913One of the main reasons I don't sell any of my builds, or offer building services, is that the buyer would be getting an inferior watch due to my amateur skills,cheaper tools and lack of water pressure testing equipment and timegrapher. And unfortunately I'm not really part of any watch communities so I don't know any builders that I could recommend.
