When these guys discover multi-strand wire rope, it's gonna blow their minds!

Wire rope doesn't work for jerker lines... The expansion and contraction with temperature fluctuations and the flex of the strands when pulled create to much havoc. During the heat of the day to midnight can cause up to 1 1/2" in change of stroke

This is the James Rig!! This was the area I started every morning at!!! Our day started out oiling and greasing the rig and checking production before heading out to service any one of the wells that may be "slipping" or not pumping at all.

I haveca rocking chair from Charlie Fairbank Sr. It's from the 1820,30,s and it is beautiful. Needs new or original cloth again. Decent looking but not what I remember as a kid. 1 thing I do know is my step father bought it at a auction at the fairbanks house in the late 70's or maybe somewhere close by. It has lion feet and is auburn in colour . Very beautiful. Would donate back to family or sell for 3000

Something similar was used here in Sweden, in the late 18th century and into the 19th century. But here water wheels and wooden rods were used that were joined together, in long distances through the forest to run smithies and sawmills.

Is there such a bad profit on the oil wells, that you can not afford to buy new pumps?
@Coalsmoke3 жыл бұрын
These oil wells have been producing oil steadily since 1863 using this original jerker-line system and wooden pump jacks. After producing oil for almost 160 years, the wells would run totally dry if modern equipment were put into use. This has happened to other wells in the area. By keeping the ancient process going, it keeps the wells producing and provides a living historical look at the way things used to be.

that's a money maker low maintenance cost paid for who cares if oil is 8 cents a barrel
