The weather cooperated for a great day of flying and walking the huge ramp at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington, for the SkyFest 2022 air show and open house on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Glossy black T-38 Talons from Beale Air Force Base opened the flying day. Kyle Fowler’s distinctive yellow LongEZ flew a graceful aerobatic demonstration, as did other civilian performers. Military aircraft captured in this video include a UH-1 in a pararescue demonstration, KC-135 and C-17 in refueling precontact position, the spectacular restored B-29 Superfortress “Doc”, the rare B-25D Mitchell bomber “Grumpy”, and a P-51C from Spokane’s Historic Flight Foundation, a brief pass from a B-1B Lancer, and the USAF Thunderbirds. The new generation of Air Force tankers, a KC-46, was on static display. And Fairchild Air Force Base acknowledged its 80th anniversary. During World War II it was used as the Spokane Air Depot, overhauling many aircraft for the war effort.,
Whenever possible, we used ambient audio to capture aircraft sounds. But the presence of commercial music on the air show PA system for which we do not own rights had to be muted. That’s the only time we used our own available music in the soundtrack. We get it - we’d all rather hear the engines.
Kick back and enjoy the show without the tired feet of walking the massive flightline! And thanks for subscribing to the Airailimages Channel on KZbin.
