U.S. Marines with 4th Reconnaissance Battalion conduct jumps off a C-130J Super Hercules during NATO's annual maritime exercise Baltic Operations 2024 (BALTOPS 24) in Gotland, Sweden, June 7, 2024.
BALTOPS 24 is June 7 to June 20, NATO's leading maritime exercise orchestrates bringing together twenty NATO Allies, over 50 ships, dozens of aircraft and a dedicated ensemble of nearly 9,000 personnel to the Baltic Sea. This year's installment is particularly notable as it marks Sweden's first participation as a full NATO member.

I think there has always been a preparation for, and an assumption that while not part of NATO, a Russo-Swedish war, or a war between NATO and Warpac back in the day would probably involve Sweden and as such invoke a need to work together. Their membership in NATO just makes it even more likely and official.

They arent JSOC and if you get captured… the enemy will know you arent just a grunt by the equipment you and your dead team mates have, the tattoos you have, and will put it together based on how deep in their territory you are. Dont fall for this fantasy land bs, its 2024, propaganda has put so much info on everyone that you are easy to pick out by how you shoot, how you walk, how you talk, etc. They show special operations training as a game to get new recruits, dont think its some patriotic kind of deal. Ever notice how every recruitment video shows guys jumping or doing something “cool”? Think about it.

@janinsweden8559
@janinsweden8559 14 күн бұрын
LO in HALO means "Low Opening". That is you don´t open the parachute until you are at low altitude. I have participated in BALTOPS a couple of times but in the Navy.
@Loneranger670
@Loneranger670 14 күн бұрын
HAHO (High Altitude, High Opening) and HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) are military parachuting techniques used by special forces for different operational purposes. In HAHO jumps, parachutists exit at high altitudes and open their parachutes soon after, allowing for long-distance gliding and covert insertions far from the target area. In HALO jumps, parachutists exit at high altitudes but free fall for a longer period before opening their parachutes at low altitudes, enabling rapid, surprise insertions with minimal time in the air. Both methods require oxygen equipment due to high-altitude deployment.

A more unusual way to visit the beautiful island of Gotland. For us civilians there are both regular ferry services and flights from Swedish mainland! 😆 However admitttedly I would ne quite scared seeing paratroopers landing tbere, because this would probably be the first step of an invasion from the east. There are some frightening scenarios, because of Gotlands strategic position in the Baltic Sea.

Sweden has the smartest nation on earth and I wonder why they didn't join NATO years ago during the cold war? As an Iranian, I consider Russia to be my historical enemy and I wish that the dictatorial government of my country falls so that we can become NATO members as soon as possible. This is the heart desire of all our young generation. A dream that we must reach sooner or later at any cost.

These guys are f insane. To begin with, I wouldn't even ride in that plane, let alone jump out of it. Secondly, I wouldn't jump out of it. I said that twice because it's that ridiculous. You guys are bad mo fo's.

I don't see it being described as a HALO jump, it is a HAHO jump, most don't know about that
