Hi Rachel, I highly recommend this one! Navigation is straightforward (perhaps even in mist) and it's not the most challenging of fell walks. I'm sure a number of Wainwrights can be bagged along the way, if that's something you're in to. Happy New Year and thanks for watching.

Nothing is more frustrating than walking with a few niggly injuries, I hope they have resolved themselves now. Car parking is crazy in the Lakes. I'm slowly building up a list of secret car parking spaces in such places. I haven't got one for Ambleside yet. But got a few in Coniston.

Glad to hear that you're keeping your own stock of car parking locations. They do seem to be out there, if we look for them, don't mind an extra bit of walking and keep it to ourselves. ;-) I'm surprised there isn't a scheme like in the Yorkshire Dales, where you can pay an annual fee for a parking pass to use in many locations.

I did it with friends in the summer, forecast was good but the wind and the mist were pants. We did it in reverse to the route you took, parking at Pelter Bridge car park, paying the same £8. Good to see you got some great views, all we got was mist till we were on the way down, cheers Alan
