I met Kenny when he played in Venezuela back in the early 90`s.... I was a kid and he was a Houston Astros prospect..... Great player....... He signed a baseball and gave it me.....Navegantes del Magallanes!!!! Thanks Kenny!!!!

Huge oversight. The Eras Committee has some lobbying to do on his behalf.
@serantav2 жыл бұрын
probably because he was a late bloomer, he didn't establish himself as a regular until he was 25-26yrs and that killed his chances to get 3k hits which almost makes you a guaranteed HOFer.

That late 90s Cleveland Indians teams were probably the most underachieving teams in all of sports history
@dontdoittoyoself67865 жыл бұрын
John Berry I believe John hart paid David Justice about 2 million less per year than he could've kept Albert Belle for. The word underachieved also remind me of Kenny Hill a lot. Was fire one time in the second half of the season with the Angel's because his contract was about to be up. Got re-signed for big money and went back to just pitching ok. The difference between the Indians and Braves from the Yankees were the Yankees kept their important players and was able to buy other key players.

it was a PRIVLEDGE to see him play for the Tribe. He absolutely dedicated himself to getting on base, and he was exceptional at doing it. Once on base, he was a bigger distraction than anyone gave him credit for. His game against Randy Johnson in the playoffs was simply legendary, He took Johnson off of his game with EASE. and Kenny had MAD speed and athleticism. a PRIVLEDGE, Mr Lofton, a PRIVLEDGE.

Kenny ain’t lying when He says He had a lot of room to roam in a outfield cornered by Manny & Albert... Two of the Worst outfielders of the 90s - 00s. Kenny on the other hand was a walking talking Web gem . The Guy was stud on the base paths & in the field - HOF imho
@elijahcademartori98543 жыл бұрын
Funny thing is Manny was actually pretty capable defensively. Just incredibly lazy on defense. My favorite play is when he made a running catch, high fives a fan and then threw out the runner for a double play.

there def better arms then and now. but especially for his type- speed his arm was among the best. and ofc he was no slouch in the outfield. I always felt he was underrated either side of the plate. Never got his just due.

Kenny is an elite athlete. You don't get drafted to MLB with a rusty set of baseball skills unless you really are elite. Much like Jimmy Graham, who played college basketball and was drafted in the NFL after a year of playing college football.

Three biggest mistakes in recent Indians history. 1. bringing in José Mesa in game 7 of the 1997 WS. 2. Bringing back Shaw after the rain delay in game 7 of the 2016 WS. And.... NOT LETTING KENNY LOFTON ROUND 3RD AND HEAD FOR HOME in game 7 of the 2007 ALCS. I was dumbfounded when our 3rd base coach had him put on the brakes. I'll take Lofton 10 out of 10 times to beat a throw to home from the outfield.

Never seen an interview with KL. Seems like a cool dude. As a Braves fan, I have 2 things to say: 1 - when he was on the Indians he was the most feared player on the team of all HOFers 2 - After watching Andruw Jones for many years, KL had no idea how to track down a fly ball. He was awful, but bc he was fast he made up for it somewhat.
