Nice Video! Thank you for that! But I have a question: Do you know, if it's possibile, that I can put Effects like Flanger oder Echo on the User Button or anywhere else? For example on a seperate timeline or on a simple clip by using the console?

I'm not sure, you might be able to make it a shortcut or map it to a button. I've never tried it, but it might work.....There are user buttons you can assign things to.

Jason, Thanks for the video……could you add a quick summary of your system design? Meaning davinci is interfacing into what audio interface. Also what’s your design goal at the church? Broadcast through davinci?

Hi! Here my setup for the multitrack recording: MacBook Pro laptop connected directly to a behringer x32 sound board via the card in the x32. No audio interface. There’s no goal for my church, it’s just experimentation for me and for other people who are also curious about Resolves capabilities for music work and production.

Wow. That's class looking. I used smaller multi-track recorders when I was a kid, but as an adult I've always just used the virtual boards in my DAWs. How's the build quality?

Build quality is good. The thing it very solid and has some weight to it. Buttons feel solid, faders move nice, every dial is very smooth.

@@JasonYadlovski it's studio software from Sreinberg, who also make Nuendo. I grew up with it as it was available as cracked stable software, that was as good as protools. Still using it. Recently I saw Junky XL also uses Cubase.

I find that the way Black Magic designed their control panels is a little weird in how to get them to fire up. I have a Speed Editor and I find that after I have Resolve open, I still have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to fire up and then I can unplug it to move it around and start using it/ I wish it was more straight forward. Thanks for everything. 😎

That’s interesting, the Fairlight panel does fire up as soon as you open resolve. I never had to disconnect or reconnect it, it seemed to be pretty consistent.

That's just the timeline playing back slow because of the jog wheel. It's not an effect I created. It's essentially just audio scrubbing with the sound on. I recorded it in my screen recording software.

how do you get the flowing mixer in fairlight

I’m not sure what you mean by flowing mixer…. if you mean seeing the mixer, move by itself, you need to set up automation on your clips and tracks, record your automation, then, when you play back, you’ll see the faders moving on the mixer board.

Oh, got ya, you can hook up a separate monitor that shows everything from the Panel. It's pretty sweet. You can see it on BMDs website here: www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/consoles Just scroll down a little and you can see it. Hope this helps!

It is quite expensive. I think unless you’re really doing only audio and lots of mixing, then it’s probably overkill. Even for me, it’s overkill. But still fun to try. 😜

You could make that right in the edit tab or in fusion. It's just boxes with text, I believe. Casey Faris might have a video on how to do that already. I'd give his channel a quick search.

It’s $3k, pricey but works nice if you’ve got the need for it. Build quality is really solid as well.

I like them and I want to want them because I am a Resolve fan however at the end of the day it is just not logical. It is impossible to produce music exclusively in Resolve, Resolve's audio production capabilities are great for a video editing software but still sub-par, this controller is not cross platform, and it is more than twice the price of other superior controllers. If I was rich and had the cash to burn then maybe I would go for it.@@JasonYadlovski
