Hey Jason, what if I'm not a full-time video editor but I just use DV Resolve for editing my own short films that I have shot and also edit events I have filmed and marketing videos i create. I might teach myself some advance techniques in fusion such as masking and other aspects of editing like that but not get too deep into it. So do you think I would still need Studio?
@JasonYadlovski2 сағат бұрын
Yes, you’re still benefit from using studio. Studio allows you to use your computer GPU and will run better than the free version. In addition you’ll have access to all of the great tools and features that come with studio. If you edit videos often, I would 100% buy. One time and you’ve got it for life. 😁👍 Hope this helps!

Thanks for this video. I made the jump from shotcut, and it is amazing the things you can do with so little work in Resolve. It is a wonder this tool is free and they give you so much. I'll no doubt be buying the full version once I get a better handle on this and start producing things with it more often.

So, I'm having trouble finding the headphones output on my interface. DR identifies the Mic Inputs, those are patched and record. But I can't see the headphones out from the Interface as an option to patch to. I want to route the audio from the main to the headphones so that I can hear the video while I record Narration.
@JasonYadlovski23 сағат бұрын
Try going to Preferences (click on davinci resolve at the top left), then go to System at the top, then Video and Audio I/O on the left, then down to Audio I/O and set the output device to your headphones. That should do the trick. 👍 Also make sure that when you record in fairlight, go to the fairlight menu, input monitor style and choose the option you want - auto should do the trick. Hope this helps!

@JasonYadlovski thanks, Jason! I got it worked out. it was important to make sure the regular bus is still properly patched. instead of making a headphone mix, which is still something I need to fix, I just muted all tracks while recording. the main mix was still in my headphones so that it wouldn't interfere woth the recording. using DR's voice isolation made it great! my audio is the best because of this software and your videos! thanks!

Moving from Premier Pro to DaVinci, I need all the help I can get with this new program! Editing videos in in Premier Pro for my KZbin videos is amazing, but the price is just too much every month. Thank you for this. Im used to having the file I can just double click on to open the project I was busy with. That is what I was looking for. I have subscribed. You are clear and helpful.

Anybody else has PROBLEM??? - not exported all movie from timeline? when my project is exported I do not have few transitions, 2 zoom in, some little parts of audio (few sec takes) are in pitch down! (i didnt pitch it)? I have resolve for long time now and this is first time i see this when finalizing. should I reinstal it? (19.1 vers of Studio) tnx!

That's strange, try clearing the render cache and see if that helps along with a restart of everything.

Hi Jason! Would you recommend the export settings in delivery page to help aim to a specific target loudness? If I am exporting my short film that will be in 5.1 and lets say a festival requires a specific target range? Also, do you know if waves makes a plugin that would work on a 5.1 master bus for limiting, or do you think the built in tools can help ok?

Thank you for this detailed explanation! The thing I'm struggling with that was not mentioned is how to set my music audio levels in relation to my talking head audio levels. Should I set the music to -20 for example, and talking head audio to -something else? How do you normally set your audio levels for KZbin to balance talking head, background music, SFX, etc.?

I'm sorry but this is a very wrong method. The way you set up everything is going to playback each clip only from the related speaker which is very wrong, nobody does that and for a good reason. The center channel should carry mostly voice or only voice, and there is no way to do any movement around by mixing the levels as they pass through the various speakers.

I tried to edit a ShareX screen-recorded video in DaVinci Resolve 19, but DaVinci Resolve showed no sound wave and played no sound for the video. The ShareX screen recorded video replayed normally with sound in Media Player, CapCut and Corel VideoStudio. Any recommendation to fix the no sound wave and no sound problem in Davinci Resolve 19?
@JasonYadlovski4 күн бұрын
You could try the tips in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3vKYWBqedqdjrc If you are using the free version, you are limited on the codecs and formats Resolve will read. Studio unlocks a lot more formats that can be used...

I'm not against using tools to speed up the editing process, quite the opposite, but the irony of a tutorial on how to use environmentally harmful AI to teach a machine learning algorithm that will inevitably steal your job is astonishing. The better this gets, it will fundamentally alter the job landscape for editors, ESPECIALLY in the amateur space.

Hi Jason! Any idea why mine acts like it's recording (red bar rising up and down with pan automation enabled) but when I hit stop, it's not written and just adds usually only a single keyframe where my playhead stops? It's acting like it's writing until I stop playback basically!
@JasonYadlovski5 күн бұрын
Hey! I'd check your automation settings that appear just above the timeline. Here's the settings I typical use: Write - Off - Return (or use Hold if you want it to stay where you stop) - then enable the parameter you want to write automation for. See if that helps....
