Jason! Did you download the new update on Davinci Resolve 19.1.3? I tried and have problems unzipping it. It freezes and then my computer shuts off. I have a Mac
@JasonYadlovski5 минут бұрын
I had the same problem the first day it came out, but then I gave up and tried the next day and it worked fine the next day when I re-downloaded it.

Jason - frikkin' awesome man! - could watch these all day. Currently I average 1 hour editing per minute of video, although I always try to learn and introduce new techniques in every one, so keeping that average at that for the last 18 months DOES actually mean I'm improving (that's what I tell myself anyway! 😂) . Also to be fair I'm mixing Drone controller screen recording, drone vide, A roll from my A6700 + Some occasional DR screen recordings and of course the obligatory gifs and clips!. Must be really weird and 'meta' to make and edit these vids, but please keep them coming mate - REALLY useful! All the best from the UK... 🖖

Hi, thanks, the Voice Isolation tip just saved me having to hunt out alternate clips, thank you. I'm now a subscriber. What about Noise reduction in the background of 'sound effects'...? e.g. I have extraneous humming noises in the background of martial arts weapon fights... very annoying. I tried the deesser/dehummer before I got here, will try the noise reduction too. Cheers again ;-0)
@JasonYadlovski5 сағат бұрын
You're welcome! The built in noise reduction is ok, but I find it doesn't work great most of the time. I like something like the Waves NS1 or you might even be able to get away with an expander to help make the humming quieter. Could even try some EQ if it's a specific frequency that you can remove.

@@JasonYadlovski Thank you for the tips, really appreciate it. The spoken audio is a lot better now thank you, so now for some dinner then back to the special effects audio with your tips ;-0) Cheers. And yes, I agree, DaVinci is sooooooooooo good, if people have the spare cash for the studio, so far it's a one-off payment for life and well worth it.

Haha! I literally just discovered Elastic Wave yesterday so this video helped. I had a small piece I was using for background just to create some ambiance, but I was repeating it over and over. Elastic Wave let me stretch it out so I could reduce the repetitions. One note, if you stretch too much you can get some warbling. Could you talk about tempo settings though?
@adventurebikesaustralia762711 сағат бұрын
Hi Jason. Thanks so much for all your videos and this plug-in. Your vids have literally transformed my vids. Anyway, if you take requests, I’d like to request a video whereby you break down WHEN to use music in your videos. For example, on my channel I make mostly how-to videos around my motorcycle - modding it and what not. And I occasionally do motovlogs. To date, I’ve been putting music under the entire video and manually ducking the music under the speaking parts (I’m never happy with the autoducker results). Should I have no music at all when I’m speaking and only during the non-speaking parts? Or should I continue putting music under the entire video? Cheers mate!

Say you're adjusting loudness for youtube - when should you use compression, vs just keyframing loud parts down? Is one option better than the other?
@JasonYadlovski11 сағат бұрын
When you are adjusting for loudness, that's done at the end of the process. By that point, you really don't need to use compression, unless you wanted to make sure that nothing sneaks through the mix. Here's a video about measuring loudness for KZbin that might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/haGbdmCHp7qqq80

How do you get the button to switch to the keyframe tab in the color tab? it does not exist by default
@JasonYadlovski11 сағат бұрын
Hey! Which button? The one the the lower right of the screen? The keyframe tab?
@8487 сағат бұрын
@ yeah, I’ve looked everywhere online, but nothing mentions how to get it. I’ve had this issue before, idk if I solved it by figuring out how to enable that tab or some other workaround to automatically record keyframes, but I recently reinstalled windows (and davinci along with that) so I don’t have that workaround anymore. Sorry if my original comment was a bit whiny, i had been trying to animate the exposure of a clip for a few hours, and couldn’t find anything that works.

This is a great video, awesome description and walk thru. I love when companies offer tools for the community.
