Jerry and Richard both on lead guitar: double the pleasure! Lucky folks in Vienna,

I was there! Wow! great seeing this after all these years,Fairports played during a storm on the Sunday night, closing the festival,RT and Jerry D....guested for the 'Hanks for the Memory' medley.Possibly Swarbs last gig ,i know he and the rest of the band were not talking......which was a wee bit awkward. There is also a clip of the Pogues......the dodgy weather meant that filming the festival for future tv transmission, only in Austria...was a slight problem.Happy days...my first visit to Vienna.

Any idea why Swarb was not talking to the rest of the band?

Thanks for uploading: maybe the last film of this great folk-rocking lineup. Swarb is at his peak. The mix brings out Peggy's great bass playing clearly. Some mad chicken-clucking solos on the Hen's March (is that trad ?) Great rendition of little Sir Bar-ley-he-he-he-corn, trad, its about whisky, a cautionary tale. Rosie: Swarb wrote this song about his wife, memorable love song. Walk a while by Swarb & Thompson great song about Swarb's wife again probably. Their take on the Shadows Apache is a lot of fun (no folk but who cares). Sloth: spine-tingling evocation of horrors: excelled here by Thompson's guitar expressions Peggy's ominous bass solo Swarb, esp. psycho shower scene strings - nice touch

Great to see this. Thanks for sharing. Actually it was not the last gig with Swarb & Bruce as full FC members. I saw the same line-up (without Richard) on august 23 1985 at the Heusden Festival in Belgium.

I notice Peggy was already making that "A Jew, a Jew" joke about Joe Lustig that he was still introducing that song with in 1992.

What happened to Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór? I have an audiotaped recording of Swarb playing it beautifully with Simon, Peggy and (I believe) DM around this time at the Lone Star Roadhouse in Manhattan, and I was thrilled at the opportunity to see him perform it again with this similar version of the band when it was announced here, but then -- chop -- after 13 seconds it was gone. Very disappointing! (They also did Matt McGinn's unforgettable "The Dog's Party" at that Lone Star show!)

Thanks for uploading! Interesting to see Nicol, Donahue and Thompson all playing Telecasters. How did that came about? I thought Hank Marvin was mainly famous for using a Strat?
