perfection. This was very much one of the 1960's 1970's songs, They had a big following, The lines for the shows were around the block in small clubs, and Richard Thompson is still going. a song that has stood the test of time!

This song is one of my all-time top-ten fave-raves! It's a masterpiece of song-writing and singing no matter who records it.

Such a good rendition of the song that ranks up there as one of my favourites. A restrained, skillful backing that pushes Sandy's voice to the fore enabling her to shine out. Love it!

YES SANDY NEARLY 50 YEARS ARE GONE THIS SONG IS ONE OF THE FINEST SONGS I VE EVER HEARD
@dkollaric1kaffur5 жыл бұрын
Yes when I heard this song I didn't understand a word of English, but the HAUNTING melody and voice did it for me. I had a copy of it on cassette-tape and listened to it *OVER AND OVER* till it was broken. BTW you know also "Percy's Song" by them?

One of my all time favourites....what a voice, what evocative lyrics - thank you Carl's Folk Club, Fairport and of course the brilliant Sandy Denny.

I THINK THIS IS A CLASSC SUNG BY AN ANGELIC VOICE OF SANDY DENNY. THIS SONG THE WAY IT IS SUNG IS HEART TUGGING AND YOUR MIND WANDERS THROUGH YOUR LIFE.

That guitar playing is something else.

One of the best ever. This original has low-key guitar work that covers frequently miss. It adds so much depth to the song, playing against Sandy's ethereal vocals.

This song will remain an evergreen similar to "Scarborough Fair" in 500 years from now.

Lovely. I have a soft spot for the 70s as there were so many good folk singers then and you could hear them on the mainstream radio and TV. Today good singers and musicians are not in the mainstream and don’t get the publicity they should.

northern tassel Hi Christine, great to see you here, i don't upload many on this channel as i don't always find the time,, but when i do it's nice just to chillout on here a bit and catch up with subscribers and comments, it's so much quiter on this channel which i like.. i do like my folk music. Yeah she died far too young, but if you google her you will read all about the serious problems this lady had, but there sure was nothing wrong with her singing as i think she's great, thanks Christine, have a good day there...

@alomaalber65145 жыл бұрын
but the Sandy Denny song was THE song of that time, Judy can sing but it was Fairport's hit tune, people lined up down the block to see them in small clubs, they were the cool band to see.
@allanbriggs8072 жыл бұрын
I like this version. Sandy's original version was quite different to this and inferior (IMHO). I like Judy's version as well .
