I think the final page that shows off the main cast going on their next adventure perfectly encapsulates the failure of Mashima as a writer. The character haven't changed at all, they all look, act, and feel exactly the same and I mean that in the worst possible way.

It may seem that way from a cynical perspective, but it's meant to be an ending that fits with the characters' natures. They've overcome many trials together, but in the end, they're a group of friends who love going on adventures together, which is why they fought so hard to protect their guild and keep it together. Perhaps they haven't changed in that regard, but they don't have to.

not really, one good joke I can think of the top of my head was when Jellal didn't Kiss Erza, and Happy drew a broken heart in the sand just to be a troll. If Mashima wasn't good with plot, I do think he did a good job with characters relationships, the personalities to bounce of each other nicely. It's been a while since I've read it, but Fairy Tail did give me a fair share of laughs, I agree that it isn't very good overall but I think it's unfair to completely dismiss it without acknowledging it does have good points. (this is a personal one, but I also think Ichiya is hilarious, specially in the Anime where he's voiced by Aizen's actor).

As a future film student who wants to make his own American anime, Fairy Tail taught me how not to write a character, fight or a plot. So I thank Fairy Tail a lot for what it taught me. I'm just disappointed because Fairy Tail honestly had the right materials to make a great story and interesting characters. Asspulls can be avoided if you have good power scaling, magic restrictions and clever ways to get out of tight situations without a Deux Ex-Machina. I want my characters to have training arcs, strategies and not just rush in without a plan. HunterxHunter and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood are my two favorite anime alongside with Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin. And thank you for the sweet words my friend. if you actually would try to watch the tartaros arc you would notice a difference there. like.. of course they won in the end, but not before hundreds of people died and they actually had to make huge sacrifises (like lucy breaking her aquarius key to summon the celestial spirit king... and gray basically killing his long lost father) I agree that in the start it was a bit too repetitive etc. but from the tartaros arc and forward it actually improves alot :)

There are so many problems with this ending alone that if there were a manga equivalent of Cinema Sins, it would break the sin counter like how Fate of the Furious broke Cinema Sins's sin counter! There was hardly an anime that challenged me and that I saw as quickly as Fairy Tail. The anime gets under your skin emotionally and had everything in season 1/7 action, fun and more. I also think the story is good, Lucy decided to become a writer and Natsu is looking for his father, and missions play a big role in this, for example, there is a lot of variety. Edolas: Meet clones with different properties. Then a tournament sheet and more. With Erza, the power of friendship has been well preserved in my eyes because it has armor magic, but I would also have liked to have a new armor after the 1 year has passed. Every episode is good, even filler that makes a sick, good anime for me. I think that Fairy Tail stands out when it comes to entertainment, characters just stand out and I find myself when I've looked through everything that I didn't care about most of the "mistakes" I mean .. you can watch series without talking too much. Fairy tail is a work that goes on without a combat system! Even without a fighting system, the anime is great, blatant and has helped many people in a bad situation. Even the fan service can be ignored and "Power of Friendship" has been changed in the 100-year quest. Example the opponent said "you also have no chance with your friends" then Natsu just met ignele's real son and ate his flames to get stronger. I personally think everyone can like Fairy Tail because the anime has everything humor, action and more. Generally the first season was one of the best beginnings ever in anime. I think the anime is perfect because it is blended from blatant moments with blatant soundtracks, and the success came because of the childishness because there was hardly any blood in the anime. I mean, you can actually recommend anime because children and you learn from it to set yourself a goal and more fairy tail is just perfect. Fairy tail is a manga / anime that was created spontaneously and contains a concept that ensures a good mood. At a certain point, however, it changed when it got darker. Fairy tail is an anime with an indescribable vibe because it helped so many people on bad days. Mashima is a genius .. no matter if the story is well written you should watch an anime / manga and just have fun with it, Fairy tail conveys that very much. If you want to watch a well-written manga / anime then check out Rave master, Fairy tail is still og and legendary in my eyes. I love to waste my time in anime because it differs from this crappy world here and topics are uncovered about which people had speculated a lot back then.Example topic: Dragon, Magic Fairy tail brought this to good use. For many people Fairy Tail was not bad when it started(for me it was good but not great). I think this was the case for King of Lighting and me but the last 2/3 arcs were really bad. Hiro was new author and he should have gotten better but it was the other way around. I can't understand why fans defend Fairy Tail, because I was a fan and it was good (not great) but everyone agrees that the last 2 years of the manga were bad. I would have been fine with Fairy Tail if the fights could at least end in a satisfying way. The buildup was hype, the setup was good, but it poops the bed with finishing the fight and makes me feel *HATRED* The Natsu and Gajeel vs Rogue and Sting fight was so cool… at first. They had dragonforce, introduced gen III dragonslayers, they could work together like a team. It had buildup to make it seem like Natsu and Gajeel would be able to sync up and work together to somehow defeat them. Does that happen? *NO* What happens instead? I love Fairy Tail but I completely agree. I feel after the 100 episodes/how many chapters it started going down in quality. Before, yeah it talked about friendship a lot BUT OH MY GOD DID IT CHANGE. The anime changed in style which made it 10x worse. I miss the beginning of FT, the fun anime that didnt give a shit about anything. The fanservice-y parts didnt bother me in the beginning. After the Edolas Arc, it started going down. ESPECIALLY after the GMC arc smfh. If they stuck with what they first did, it would be so much better. Btw, fucking great video.

Magnum_Koichi actually king in I think one of his last two chapter reviews of FT 321 or 322 he said he dropped kenichi and he even said kenichi was better at the time but I guess at some point he went back and finished it? rhett timbers It was already generic at first but fun in a way but once you seen it after a while you notice its glaring flaws. Then when it got closet to the time skip it got worse and worse then it was all downhill from there. Tartarous then comes and gives hope only yo then dash it with the final arc.

Honestly after the grand magic games arc I dropped it so I can't tell you about the tartarous arc. I just read a few chapters of alvarez and had my friend tell me about zeref and natsu. Hiro really could've done a lot more with that reveal then what he did but he didn't. Then he trolled everybody at the end with the pairings and thats when people really started to turn on him.

It literally made me sick that Zeref and Mavis came back... A highlight of the disaster end chapters for me, was Zeref and Mavis being able to move on from the living world in peace. I thought that was the best ending for Zeref after all his time suffering as an immortal... God, I could not fucking continue the ending chapter when Mavis and Zeref showed up. Completely decimated how emotional and meaningful Zeref and Mavis's death was.
