like in the 100 years quest he’s really protective of her cause he gets jealous when guys hit on her and burns them. He also leaves a bunch of hints within the manga and it’s just adorable. Plus it was confirmed that in dragon cry he saw Lucy as a lover but didn’t tell her because he thought she didn’t feel the same way. Also Natsu forgives zeref because he knows that Zeref only wanted the best as well as him trusting his care for Mavis because they reincarnated and have a finally happy start.

Starlight animations :3 im gonna assume so because at this point natsu fully understands but is too shy. and considering that moment is his longest memory and possibly happiest i would assume so but based on how its all working out im gonna side with there was a special occasion. In the 100 yr quest he is making it quite clear he wants her to himself cuz he burns the people hitting on her. There will surely be a confession i mean gray admitted to juvia and we all know erza and jellal thing is pretty much a thing. Natsu and lucy is gon be tough cuz both are so shy and afraid of the others rejection and i think its gonna be a heart felt moment and they may be alone when it happens cuz when future lucy dies he said “no one will take lucys future while im alive” so i mean rt there shows she is his strength and i feel that his final battle they will confess and when they do he will become more powerful.
