The animation in this movie was AMAZING!!! I can't wait to watch more Fairy Tail Movies in the future! Next reaction will be Tuesday and that will be to the Fairy Tail 2014 OVA 1! The movies are weird when it comes to placement and cannonness. While I don't think they have an exact placement making them non cannon, certain events and characters are referenced in later chapters of the manga. But the movies are still a fun watch, I certainly prefer them to the filler arc you'll get into next

both movies are canon, mashima confirmed that he worked on the first one and the second is directly tied to some important characters in the future arcs. The fact that characters and events are refered in the manga just confirms that.

@@CyberDalek17 the first movie is right after the eclipse arc. It is pretty obvious just looking at the characters appearances and their abilities. The second movie is happens right after zeref meets acnologia in the cave, also pretty obvious. Don't see what is so unclear about their placement in the timeline.
