I've always wondered if The Thin Man (if the time loop theory is correct and he really is Mono) kidnapped Six not to protect or even lure Mono, but rather to keep a memory and piece of his past, more innocent self and to enjoy the smaller things in life. Maybe that's why he transformed her into a monster, gave her toys and her favorite music box. If so, then that's even sadder than assuming he's avoiding his past self's fate, but rather wanting to go back into the better memories of his life through Six. (bonus: he turned Six into a monster and trapped her in a room as a sort of "revenge" so he could justify his selfish and greedy actions. Because if he hadn't done that, the present Mono and Six could probably still live together, adventuring around and exploring places. 'Tis but a hopeful dream for everyone in that world.)

I really adored this theory, especially how it helps support the game's main theme, which is how children's exposure to the rotten sides of the adults that surround them can make them lose their innocence. Like Six, she puts away her sympathy so that she can survive in that cruel world much like how abused children often do in real life. Making those little and mundane nightmares, never much amounted to an adult, can be the child's biggest catalyst of what they will be as a grown-up. The city's biggest rotten sin is escapism. I like to believe that Mono has fully become this adult engulfed by escapism that captures six, not out of revenge, but to now keep her safe in the tower. The form of safety he now believes (Judging by how long he's been influenced by the tower) is to escape this reality. There's a chance that he spends his time with his thoughts in the tower; rationalizing that what happened to him was actually the best outcome since he gets to survive. Tbh when I think about it... The implications of why Mono was being called from the opening of the door would not make sense if the Thin Man was the one calling. Like, didn't he already know what will happen? It's more likely that if the one who's calling is the Thin Man, his motivations can theoretically be to keep him and his friend safe by trapping them in the tower. He offers his old friend her escapism by giving her something that he originally took away from. Offering her everything she wants. He intentionally or unintentionally corrupts her because of it and now she's transfixed in that room inside the tower. One thing to note is that even though she's now formed into a monster, she seems to be at peace and even is willing to share her music box with Mono.

The timeloop isn't a proper timeloop. Mono just goes back in time to try and change his fate, but he never learns from the mistakes that the prior thin man made. Which is weird given how smart he is. It makes me wonder if mono is intentionally prolonging the timeloop. For what reason im not sure.
