I love this story, and it reminds me of a Greek myth I read when I was younger. There was a man traveling down the road on foot, before long he found a dead snake lying in the middle of the road. He became sad at the poor creatures death and gave it a proper burial so no one would tread on it and disturb its peaceful rest. Once he had finished five baby snakes came to him from the grass, talking him that the snake had been their mother and thanking him for his kind act, as most others would either pass by or simply kick her into a ditch. As thanks, they licked his ears clean and this gave him the power to understand animals. He soon came to a town where the king had great troubles. His youngest daughter had become ill and was offering a great reward to anyone who could heal her. The man offered his services in exchange for a cow from the kings herd. This was granted to him and he killed the cow and laid it in a field. Before long two vultures came to eat, talking idle while they did of the kings ill daughter. They knew why she was sick and said it was because the king, in a fit if rage threw a knife at a tree(this may not be exact but some how a knife ended up in a tree). This angered the dryad who lived with in the tree, so she set a curse on the kings daughter. The vultures then said the only way to save the kings daughter would be to take the knife from the tree and use the rust from the knife to make a special medicine. The man did and no sooner had the princess been given the medicine she got up and was no longer sick. The man became the kings adviser and used his gift from then on. I adore stories from Greek mythology and I'd love to see some on this channel and hear my favorite stories read by you. Of course only if you want to.

I’ve heard that story but it was very different. This is how my grandma told it. The king indeed had a white snake delivered to him, but it was alive and it slithered in his ears every night. The slithers turned into the king’s wise thoughts and that’s how he ruled the kingdom. And it was also called “the white snake”... huh. Weird
@abitlate4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! Listening to the snake makes a heck of a lot more sense to me than eating the poor thing. That's so cool that you know that version!

After making some family friendly alterations (like keeping the white snake alive, making the goose cough up the ring, and feeding the birds his rations instead of his horse), this would make a nice Disney short.

Speaking of snake there are two snake stories that can be seen as beauty and the beast. 1. The Enchanted Snake 2. The Snake Prince So far these are stories where the snake isn't the villain. An honorable mention to the Prince/King Lindworm/Lindorm because a lindworm is described to be a wingless dragon or a snake.

@@starlight8540Yes. Check out my playlist called snake stories fairytale. There is the immortal white snake. In addiction there is two movies revolved around the myth. I think it's called white snake.

I'm glad you mentioned the hypocrisy here. Dude offing a horse to feed some baby Ravens is one seriously crazy leap in logic. I thought he's just go get some berries or something, but noooo - this dude is only friend to _certain_ animals and the heck with the rest (even when they're his only means of conveyance). That's so hilariously bonkers XD Maybe the Horse was a d-bag or something, so that's why we never heard what THEY had to say to the guy, and why he was so quick to kill THEM. That's the only way I can possibly justify that. "Hopefully, some of these animals were kinda jerks" is the best I got :P Oh well, it's always a pleasure to listen to these stories - bonkers or not - on your channel. Just love the whole vibe. You rule :D

Omg i cant believe you responded!, yeah im in a bad place right now, and listening to your video's actually helps me to fall asleep, they placed my daughter in foster care without really legit reasons, she was doing so incredibly well at home, had a couple of courtcases, the only thing that really helps me sleep is listening to these stories and reading fairytales that give me some sense of happiness, so thank you so much for that!
