The surrogate mother subject is interesting, but I wonder since we have a tradition when it comes to first born children and they're status it goes by the mother petach rechem, the first to open the womb, and what happens if a woman miscarries? Is the miscarried child have the status of first born and therefore all sons Borns afterwards loses this the firstborn? The halacha isn't like this, it's the petach rechem the first to open the womb, so to here, it's not the egg but the rechem that determines the Jewish status.
