His tone and range was great too but not that versitile. Layne was miles better than Axl Rose. BUT Mike Patton's insane Pitch, Range, Technic, versatility and infinite tones clears all metal singer he is better than Phil Anselmo, Maynard, Chino, Devin Townsend, Chris Cornell, Layne Stayley.
