Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” Eph 5:23-24 Virgin woman: (pure faithful church of God) “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” 2 Cor 11:2 Whore = Apostate Church “the great whore that sitteth upon many waters” Rev 17:1 Woman riding the beast = Apostate church controlling a kingdom/nation (Church/State power) “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” Rev 17:2 • So this symbol of the woman riding the beast in Rev 13 represents the antichrist power a union of an apostate church and state power 5) ARRAYED IN PURPLE AND SCARLET • “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand…” • Therefore, it will be a church (woman) that is arrayed “clothed” in purple and scarlet, very wealthy “decked with gold and precious stones and pearls”, and has “a golden cup in her hand” 6) WILL THINK TO CHANGE THE TIMES AND LAWS OF GOD • “a mouth speaking great things” Rev 13:5 • “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” Daniel 7:25 • In Daniel 7:25 the antichrist power will think to change times and laws. And these are not the laws of men merely for men add and change laws all the time. Here the antichrist power will think to change times and laws of God. In no other blasphemous way could the antichrist claim the prerogatives of God then by claiming to change a law that God himself had instituted and written with his own divine hand. • God says concerning his laws “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” Psalms 89:34 • “...heard the voice of the words… And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.” Deut 4:12-13 • Therefore, antichrist will attempt or “think” to change the Ten Commandments. 7) WILL HAVE POWER OVER THE SAINTS FOR 1,260 YEARS Definition of saints: (believers of God) “beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 1:7 “also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda” Acts 9:32 • “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue 👉forty and two months.” Rev 13:5 • “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” Rev 13:7 - Parallel to Daniel 7:25 • “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a 👉time and times and the dividing of time.” Daniel 7:25 Definition of time: (time = 1 year) In the Jewish tradition a “time” is referred to as a year or a complete cycle of the seasons. Calculation: Time = 1 + Times = 2 + Dividing of time = ½ year = 3 ½ years = 42 months (12 X 3.5) 42 months x 30 days (each biblical month is 30 days) = 1,260 days • A third bible verse confirms the time period of the “pure church = woman” would flee persecution for 1,260 days: “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” • Let’s look further at this time period. When calculating Bible prophecy, there are symbolic measurements or time that are to be interpreted into real measurements of time. • For example: 1 Day in Prophecy = 1 Literal Year • We find this in the Bible: “After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.” Num 14:34 • “For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
