Bunyan's quote circa the 41:25 mark struck home. I had only this morning wrote a commentary of Romans 2. I ascribe it only to the Holy Spirit by which I listen to this post today.

God Bless this ministry!! I have learned so much from you guys and all the puritan preachers you've sent out over the net. I feel so blessed to get to hear them and I need the strength I get from hearing them.

...and may God bless you, Faith. I do so appreciate your continued comments, for knowing you have been blessed brings me great joy and encouragement. I have passed your words on to the speaker in this lecture, my dear friend Tom Sullivan. I trust that he too will find great encouragement in your sentiments. Peace to you in Christ Jesus, sister :-)

Having just read the list, I ask: who then can show affection? The list is very harsh and I identify myself in more than 1 of the criticisms but do not consider myself a "religious" person i.e: not saved, just moral. I too, greatly admire the Puritans, and have several books of theirs in my collection. I do not know if this has been your experience but I've found their writings can have an aire of legalism and often I find the need to take a break from them. Maybe this is just my modern sensibilities? They did live in more sober times, amidst much affliction of both body and soul.
