I watched a 6 foot 180 lbs bouncer trying to remove 6'5" 300+ lbs guy from the bar for breaking bar rules. The big tried everything to intimidate the bouncer, the bouncer was running out of patience, and told him. You lift heavy weights to build up big impressive muscles, so you can try to intimidate others, while I spend my time practicing fighting, so walk out, or be carried. He was carried, woke up on the sidewalk, and never returned to that bar

The bouncer is of suboptimal build for his job. Most of bouncing is intimidation and deterrence. If you have to fight for real, you've failed at the first 2. To have good physical presence he'd need to bulk to at least 200lbs at 6 foot.

@@majungasaurusaaaa Nah that's not how it works, I've done bouncing and I'm 6ft, very strong and 225lb with some background in combat sports but one of the most lethal people I worked with a guy that was like 5ft11 and 180lbs, he was a former competitive kick boxer and self defense instructor. One night a brawl broke out outside the bar, the two bouncers outside got jumped by 6 guys. We didn't know what was going down but my kick boxing buddy had been the first out the door. By the time we got outside, there were 4 guys knocked unconscious and he was working some big dude against a car. The other two bouncers were on the ground trying to get up and they said they barely had a part in what went down and that he knocked out all 4 of guys there on the ground. Size does help as a deterrent but only so far with drunks because many idiots take the size difference as a reason to challenge you when they've had a bad night. How you carry yourself, confidence and telling people "listen I'm a trained fighter and if you want this it's going to go very badly for you" without breaking eye contact will cause many people to back down

I used to compete in a certain sport, and I toyed with certain people, but never looked down on them. We showed mutual respect. But then they all got on the juice, and caught up with me within a year or two. One of them surpassed me. This one in particular started to act different and had no time for me. If you want to cheat, go ahead, but don't pretend that makes you better. It's the opposite. It shows you have no character, and likely had less natural talent. I can't stand when juicers compete while claiming to be natural. It's bad enough to steal trophies, but to be overlooked where you should be acknowledged, because so many others are cutting corners, is the worst.
