Good rule of thumb when sparring (especially against someone way more skilled than you) only hit them as hard as you wanna be hit. You can see the anger in their faces when they start swinging harder. Like dude, no shit a UFC champ is gonna dominate you. Put the ego away.
@achillesbeast7 сағат бұрын
Completely agree. I was in boxing for a long time, and any time I sparred a professional, I took it more as a session to learn and employ techniques, not to try to one up the pro. I saw way too many big ego guys get obliterated for trying to show up a pro. And these guys were simply local pros, not champions at the level like Alex.

Very few cultures understand Thai people. They hear 'The Land of Smiles' and think they can just be rude and obnoxious and nothing will happen. The truth is, Thai have a public face and a private face. The Bhuddist techings there mean nobody wants to publicly show bad feelings or anger, but those feelings and anger are very much present. If you cross a line, you will see the private face, and it will likely be the last thing you see. Thai people do not play. Ask David Carradine. Oh, wait... you can't. 😉
