This video is done great. But this 'Beta' version is as FAKE as hell. If you listen to all the tracks from Thomas Bangalters previous tracks from the Roule album to Stardust till Discovery, you hear a certain pattern which follow through to Discovery. The unkown tracks has nothing in it that sounds near that Daft Punk sound. It sounds horrible, more like a fan album or something. But again, the video is done great!

How the hell was anyone ever convinced these were actual Daft Punk songs or previous versions of them? It's so painfully obvious this is some hoax. Like... Vietnam (11:28) is some shit I would have made back when I was 14 years old learning FL Studio. The only track that could even come close to being passed off as Daft Punk would be the "old" version of Short Circuit (11:00) and even then it just sounds like some one-off track from some random French house producer that I would find crate digging through old vinyl.

Great video man! Even though it’s clearly not real, you still put a great amount of effort into analyzing each track. I think the thing that (audibly) for me is the fact that most of the songs just don’t feel “Daft Punk” enough, and more like “baby’s first synthesizer” mashed with random samples. Even for a beta, I feel that Daft Punk likely would’ve still made their work pretty polished even when in the early stages, and it’s so roughly cut that’s it’s hard to imagine Thomas and Guy bopping to that in the studio. Anyways, keep up the good work!

@jackcass3 жыл бұрын
I remember when I downloaded this. Some of the songs definitely hit me as not fitting in with what I was expecting. When I bought the album, it was noticeably different from the "leak" and the tracks that didn't fit in weren't there. Having downloaded other pre-releases before and after this album, I chalked this up as works-in-progress and other electronic musicians music all packaged together to get someone some level of credibility in the pirated music scene. I believe that this did come out before the release of Discovery, though I could be wrong, as I wasn't following Daft Punk like I did as a result of Discovery. My interest in electronic music was more surface-level, in appreciation of the overall sound and not paying attention to individual artists. At the time, there were websites that had links to full albums and "pre-releases" (which were not always what they claimed they were). I downloaded this from one of those.

This is kinda late to say, but I believe that the "Quickly and easily!" vocal sample in "Pierre Stupide" is from an infomercial featuring the voice of Mark Elliot (RIP). He was a well known voice-over artist who's voice can be heard in numerous trailers, feature presentation bumpers and commericals for Disney movies from the early 1980s to the late 2000s. Aside from that, he was also widely regarded as the voice of infomericals. I don't know which infomercial the sample is from, but when I find out, I'll tell you.
