This is so accurate and so important to be talked about. The whole 'I don't like them because their fandom is toxic' thing is dumb asf. Most of the fan accounts on social media saying most vile sh!t about some other idols are just set up accs. Their purpose is to bring hate to the idols and their fandoms.

I really want to thank you for touching these topics! Thank you! The growing concern of fake accounts which goes up and pretends to be fan just huddles me up! Before few days, the Weeknd was clapbacking hate comments and he quoted a tweet which had jimin pfp. Guess what? It was set up account and it gave huge hate train to BTS! Im glad people stood up against it!

@@riri5033it was on twitter. a blink account with 3 followers had changed their pfp and dn to pose as a bts fan and then either quoted or @‘d The Weekend making a racist comment towards him. instead of ignoring the account that was clearly a troll, The Weekend quoted the account and brought it a lot of attention leading to armys getting hate and bts getting hateful and racist comments towards them. with one quick scroll through the troll account it was so obvious that they were a blackpink fan but the only thing people payed attention to was their pfp and dn name.

I've noticed this exists on instagram too. The unwanted hate on Han sohee, (I hope I spelled it right) most of them are trolls with new accounts & 0 followers, with BTS ships/members as their usernames. It's so sad to see all the "🤢🤮" emojis & "get away from jungkook" Please report comments like these. And I hope the actual toxic solo stans & toxic army's who participate in this learn something from their favs & touch some grass. 🌾🌿

I'm glad you mentioned this. It really does cause fan wars and conflict over nothing. Atiny had a "moa" who would come spam us during our comeback every day. Today a Moa showed interest and complimented Ateez. Someone was surprised as to how nice the moa was due to their experience with the spam account. I had to point out that the other account wasn't a real moa. I bet like 90% of the "toxic" fandoms just have a lot of fake accounts people use to spam up other groups. Totally crazy.

Ikrrr this is such a big problem and needs more attention!!!! Seriously yesterday I saw screenshots of blinks setting up armies on Twitter by making fake fan accounts. And then people say armies are the toxic ones. Now a days everyone has a problem with bts, it's like if you stan anyone but BTS then u r cool and "mature". Because of other fandoms setting us (armies) up we have been entitled as the most toxic fandom filled with 13yo girls

It's easy for me to know that such accounts belong to a "fake fan" or "troll". They often never use a specific profile picture, having barely subcribers, and the moment someone confronts them or argue them back, they rarely or never replied lmao. Idk about you though, I wanna hear how you handle this! 🤗

I agree with absolutely everything you said. I also think that people shouldn't underestimate the amount of non-fans, who are actually lowkey happy about these troll accounts while being fully aware of the purpose of these accounts (to get people to hate on the idol/group the person is supposedly a fan of), because they can use them as an excuse to hate on that idol/group. I'm speaking from experience. I usually happily generalized whole fandoms as toxic while being fully aware, that the negative people I encountered were mostly set up accounts. It finally gave me an excuse to justify me disliking/openly stating wrong things about a certain group, mostly because I was insecure in my favorite artists' success and was anxious about these groups surpassing them, so I just took the opportunities these fakes accounts were offering me. I think, looking at the competitive fandom culture in kpop and knowing that my favorite group is Bts who many fans might be jealous of for obvious reason, a large demographic of people hating on Bts by using the fandom are just like I was, very aware of their situation and feelings. So you shouldn't take everyone who 'critizes' the fandom seriously.

Thank you. We need some clever interaction as a fandom. I've been seeing a lot of ARMYs being baited into an argument. Personally, I just report and block, gives me peace of mind. If there has been a hate train by such accounts on another idol's insta, I try to post 💜. On Insta, I see a lot of accounts calling themselves something generic like "BTSlover" or more often a ship name and then have no posts on their account. They often use those accounts to write hateful things on other fandom pages to start something.

The way I found out about fake fan accounts was when I got into K-pop, I never knew people who also liked K-pop. Even though I only liked BTS I did listen to multiple groups & was cool w/ being friends w/ someone who liked other K-pop groups. But I met 4 girls at school one day in gym class where multiple gym classes go in together & we started talking & one started playing K-pop music so I was like “omg you guys like K-pop!?” & we talked all excited. So I knew they liked K-pop but day 5 of knowing them we all met up at one of the girls house to hang out & we start talking, out of nowhere one girls said to me “yeah but you don’t like BTS right?” We had never talked about our fav groups yet just random songs we liked. Before I could even answer one of the other girls said “Anyways it doesn’t matter because we don’t like BTS so you just can’t listen to them if you do & wanna hangout w/ us” I was taken back a little bit because I’d never heard anyone say something like this w/ any western artist I liked so this was new. Then one of the other ones grabbed my phone & said “here let’s actually make you some new twitter & instagram accounts” I was like why? & she said “oh so you can have a bunch of BTS fan accounts like we do” I said “why do you guys have them if you do t like them!?” & she said “oh no we use them to tweet about our actual favorite K-pop groups but pretend that we are BTS fans because it helps are fandom get mad then they don’t like BTS as much & they focus on our girls!” Other one said “yeah sometimes we decide together what to tweet or comment on & we start some fights online sometimes but it’s always funny because people get so nasty on the internet!” I have never yelled at someone so fast. I dropped them & told them to stay away from me. I did something petty too but I still don’t feel bad about it. I shared w/ our school all those girls real Stan twitter accounts & let’s just say they actually stayed far away from me then because those girls could not hear the end of it for like the rest of that year. If they had left BTS alone I would’ve never thought about it but had to go on their real Twitter accounts wishing death on BTS & that did not fly w/ me. So I posted their real Stan accounts & they had embarrassing stuff on those accounts like that NSFW stuff that is uncomfortable to see on the timeline. But that it and an experience I’ll never forget.

There is a term for these accounts- “fanco” aka “fan cosplay”. They do nothing but sow chaos and too many people don’t take the time to realize these accounts are jobless trolls before they react. They’re also called “setup accounts”. This just happened with The Weeknd qrt’ing an army fanco account and their @, bio, likes, rt’s, follows, and reply history suggested that they were a blink (or maybe even a blink fanco). Whoever they were clearly had an agenda to set BTS up, but I’m also suspicious of The Weeknd’s thought process in responding to a “tiny seven” account that was spewing hate at him out of the tens of thousands that were eating him and his hbo show alive. It felt like a deliberate choice of low hanging fruit, but that could just be my perception. Of course Blinks jumped down this “army” account’s throat for hating on The Weeknd because he worked with Jennie (a very deep stretch). It took no time for actual ARMYs to fight back and expose that this was clearly a fanco account, but some blinks refused to see reason because their hatred for ARMYs ran that deep. In their minds real ARMYs would have probably done the same thing, this warranting the reaction. This is the needless hatred these setup accounts breed.

There are a lot of them in twitter keeping the platform so messy, inciting fan wars by going to each group's pages to say something nasty like comparing them to BTS or other group then naturally the fans of that group latched on to that thread. These mostly happen with bts 😅 I found so many accounts lol . They are almost from other fandoms . I have noticed with twice also they say bad things about blackpink in comments so that people attack twice then you them not defending back or you can see their playlist of blackpink or other groups . Lol I find these troll accounts bizzare

Well said. Tbh I ignore those accounts cause I know Armys will never behave like that. I don't associate the idols with the fandoms or other people's behavior. A fandoms behavior doesn't reflect the idols in my opinion. All haters hide their faces behind celebs and other people who are confident to show themselves cause in reality, those people wouldn't dare say such things irl. I just report and block if I do somehow see those accounts.

because unlike other fandoms, armys are always busy and well fed with content and music so we have better things to prioritize our time on other than trending petty little hashtags just to drag an irrelevant kpop group for the sake of fanwars. though if other fandoms do start hashtags against bts, more than likely armys will take over the hashtag and fill it with jokes/memes or create a new hashtag that shows appreciation and love towards bts and it cancels out the toxic one.

Well, I’m just a minute in the video but already got thoughts. We actually know a company of an idol daniel (?) had bought hate bots in order to boost fandom protectiveness and boost his popularity this way and as I remember (? I may be wrong) he quit this company exactly because of it. And knowing some labels hate bts very openly into buying articles with a topic like “why bts suck in comparison to all yge artists” (leave artists in question alone it’s yge doing it all and not the responsibility of idols)… Every year I have to block at least three yge sponsored journalists that get viral for making a bad review on the tannies while having super high praise for every yge group, since 2019 at least cause that’s when I joined twitter + I did it just for bts
