First KZbinr I've been able to watch from start to finish which says a lot. You are to the point. Others blab on and on, you are like "this is what I use, this is how you do it". I found the cone form at Goodwill for $1 and decided to try this project last year after seeing many of your craft videos. The cones looked great but the spackle was so moist after adding paint to make "chocolate ice cream" that I had a difficult time forming it into a realistic form. Thank you for doing this video and the suggestion of using flour to thicken the spackle. You are a genius and I get so much inspiration from your videos.

Thank you! The ice cream mold is not always available!There are candle cone molds out there and I’ll have to check if the lemon mold is still available!But keep searching eBay or Etsy for the cone mold!
You can always use air dry clay in the molds so as to avoid weight, and put tinfoil inside to fill out. As for chocolate you can use colored pufft paint or colored hot glue sticks. I make it that way so it's light enough to use them as Christmas ornaments

I have the mold. I just bought some plaster. Do you know how much you mixed up to fill all 6? I never used it before. I'm scared I'm going to mix to little or not enough.

I bought a silicone cone mold (my first mold) but the seller didn’t send any directions. Would you advise plaster of paris rather than Model Magic Clay for the cone? I was thinking it might be top heavy if I used the lighter clay on the bottom. How to you unmold it? Let it dry first then turn it upside down and it pops out? Do I need to put anything in my mold like petroleum jelly?
@thepinktree34904 жыл бұрын
Hi!Yes I would recommend using plaster of Paris for your cones!You don’t have to put anything in your mold to make it pop out.You just have to leave it in for a few hours or more before removing it from the mold!Plaster of Paris always comes out of silicon moods with no problem!When using plastic molds I leave it in a little longer and then they just fall out of the mold!Always remember the bigger your object the longer you let it sit in the mold:)

How heavy are these? Could they be used as Christmas tree ornaments?
@thepinktree34904 жыл бұрын
There are quite heavy but a fake tree could hold it!

Hi Dawn, thank you for this creative tutorial. It is exactly what I was looking for. Can you please give the measurements (l,w,h) for the cones? Also, what size ice cream scoop did you use?We need them to fit in a holder and need to know they will fit before we order the mold. Thanks so much for your time.

Alicia Schlattmann Hi! The overall mood measures 10.5” in diameter and 3” deep.Each cavity’s diameter is 7.2cm at the top opening and 2.8 cm at the base.The scoop I bought at the dollar store and it’s a tad smaller than your average,you can use any size you want and don’t forget I sanded the top part of my cone!
