I thought it was very interesting that KZbin spam bots had "evolved" features in their videos to fight copyright bots. It makes it seem like the internet is like the Serengeti, but with algorithms fighting for survival instead of lions and antelopes.

I remember sometime in 2014-15, I was looking for On the Floor by jlo on YT on my phone, but I couldn’t find it. The only thing I found were those weird lyric videos with either very low quality sound or no sound at all. Understandably the comments were all frustrated people complaining about them. I figured back then that major labels didn’t want their songs to be on phones for free, so I didn’t think they were weird

so, i stumbled across a rabbit hole the other day and thought of this video: this weirdly titled song from a topic channel shows up in my recommended. it's titled "Feel Voyage Hotel Th Heart" and is (allegedly) by "rosemary sheppard", though i doubt this is a real artist. there's also another one titled "Rocky Road Company The Rabid Earth Tribe Growl Aabbcczzzzz" by another probably-fake artist called "Elderberry Fruit", but it's the first one i dug slightly deeper into. looking closer at the thumbnail, it appears to be not just a car, but ai-generated artwork of a car. the music itself is just some fairly basic piano piece, i mean i don't know a lot about piano but it's very much like, background noise-tier. the artist's channel, oddly, has several playlists with about a hundred videos each. i can only assume all of them are similar in nature, and my best guess is that this is some kind of bot. of course there ARE actual ai artists, but idk man everything about this one just screams automated to me. youtube's full of weird little oddities like this, really.

It was funny to hear "Germany has notoriously tight copyright laws" knowing as a guitarist of a German guitar company called Harley Benton who literally just make guitars that are outsourced to Indonesia and are all shapes ripped off from other companies
@Wolfgang_von_Caelid2 жыл бұрын
I mean, Harley Benton is out here doing good work imo. All the older, super popular guitar shapes are public domain at this point, so you can't really "rip them off". Besides, it would be ridiculous to expect every single guitar company to come up with their own completely unique shapes. Especially the strat, tele, and LP shapes are just slight modifications to the shape of a classical guitar, meaning you retain the comfort of the origin shape. On the point of outsourcing, idk what point you're trying to make with that in relation to copyright. HB has its flaws, but when you break it down, they are offering really high quality, entry level instruments for a fraction of the price of their competitors, to the point where their profit margin is nearly non-existent. I got my ex a 120€ HB strat a couple years ago and it was seriously as good as my Squier Classic Vibe that cost nearly 4x as much. Brands like HB are partially the reason why we are in a sort of Golden Age for entry level guitar gear; in comparison with gear from 10+ years ago, the stuff you get at the entry level is seriously good stuff. 200 bucks for a guitar, 200 for an amp, and you have yourself a solid setup. Try out a $200 amp from 2010, they are shockingly bad, to the point of being essentially unusable.
@Pseudiom2 жыл бұрын
Disclaimer: I known nothing about guitars. I really only know artists and companies from outside Germany often have issues with German laws for some reason. As is usual, those inside the country often have an easier time.

@@mrwoodchuck94 Lorilee sounds like a garbled version of Loreley, something pretty much no one would name their daughter after, so I agree that's a bullshitty name, especially if you combine it with Hilden. It sounds like the name of a fantasy character. Cindy is not common, yes, but I don't think it's weird either; and Schreier could pass as some weird variant of a trade name like Schreiber or Schreiner that has only survived as a surname (or something like that). That's what I meant with "fairly unremarkable": it's not exactly generic, but it does sound believable.

@@someobserver844 it's kinda like this weird memes where ppl say stuff that sounds German but it's clearly not german
@Pseudiom2 жыл бұрын
I assumed "Lorilee" was a corruption of "Lorelei" or "Loreley" so descended from German. Looking it up now though, apparently "Hilden" is a surname (though uncommon) in England or possibly a variant of "Holden". And there are at least a few notable Germans, Austrians, and Americans who have the last name "Schreier". They're doubtlessly weird.

There are 100% more channels like this out there, mainly the ones using fake identities. There are also the automated Wikipedia article uploading videos, but those are obvious about what they are. These seem to want to fake being real for some reason?

@@Pseudiom It's a shame that I can't recall what I searched for. I always try to stay open to my supporters! That's why I try to reply to most comments (in a sensible time frame). Part of the scattershot format of my videos is to prevent me from falling into the "easy content" routine I've seen others fal victim to. I'd rather have a 100 viewers who can contribute with good comments/discussion than 10,000 who just post memes or tired jokes (though I enjoy good jokes in my comment section). I've ended up being more indirectly influential with that strategy than I expected. There is an alternate timeline where Pseudiom could have pivoted into a Dragon Ball content channel, but I never really entertained the idea.
