I also noticed one more distinctive difference: the original one has some kind of welding waves (or burrs) on the hexagon edges, while the fake one has absolutely clear edges.

Good job. Thanks for sharing. I saw Makuloco's vid as well. I am getting some iridium SP519's from a big Ford supplier. It will be interesting to see what I get. Maybe Motorcraft needs to put a watermark on the boxes?

Yeah definitely be cool especially if you really hard for these other companies to replicate it, you should report back on whether they look legit or not when you get them

I purchased some new plugs and received them two days ago. Purchased from a big mustang parts resource I shall not name unless they don't pay postage for the return. If not, then it's on! The webpage said SP519 which is the original iridium plug for the Coyote. Not easy to find. It's replacement, the SP548 are a dime a dozen. Get them anywhere. Guess what I received. SP548. I took one to the Ford dealer and compared to one of their SP548. Bold Motorcraft lettering. Wide blue bands and darker than the dealer SP548. I would not have know to look if it weren't for you and Makuloco. Thanks again.@@DrewsBackYardMechanics

@@DrewsBackYardMechanics Interesting development on fake Motorcraft plugs. I mentioned that I purchased SP519 from a Mustang parts supplier. They sent SP548 X that looked counterfeit. When I asked for a refund they refunded my account and told me I can just discard the plugs. Very odd.

I didn't understand from your video which one is the fake and which is the genuine Motorcraft part?

The fine tip on the fake one means it's not Platinum because platinum's have a thick tip the fine tip means it's a iridium plug
