Because in the startup world, investors rarely invest in the business but rather in the businessmen themselves. Like you said, the investors were charmed by the founder, not the product. This happened many times before and it is like the nature of startup investment.

Very true.

@@playman350 ratings and fiscal reports are overrated in this days........since they gave AAA certification to BBB bonds in 2008, you know all this paperwork is an excuse to cover their arses after they lose all YOUR MONEY so they don't go to jail. But this case goes beyond retardation, because the website was already there to be checked.....38k subscribers?? a hobby page gets twice of those........and if you account all the channel's views, even thou one had 4 million views, divided by the amount of videos, you will get 15.000 views per video......that's not even 2 dollars in revenue from advertising.
@nicolashrv3 жыл бұрын
and actually is worse than that, because only ONE video got advertising revenues. All the other 264 videos had so little views they couldn't even reach the minimum CENT to at least get any revenue you could be paid.
@garydevries59613 жыл бұрын
@@nicolashrv It's all combined. Basically once one when reaches $100, they get money at the end of the month. In short, a thousand videos earning $0.10 a month would qualify for the $100 figure. If one made $95 one month and $77 the next, they would get paid $172 at the end of the second month.
@nicolashrv3 жыл бұрын
@@garydevries5961 but is not the same. Having only one video reaching $100 and the rest nothing means your channel does not have a ground base of viewers, and maybe you have just one video which just caught the attention.......having all the videos sharing its grain of sand to reach the $100 is a total different thing. That means your channel worths $100.......the other means only ONE video is worth $100, ergo, your channel is worthless as a whole.

Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: My name is OZYMANDIUS , king of kings; Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away." - Percy Shelley's "Ozymandias"

Wide variations in channel views is not that unusual my own channel has a top view of over 13000, bizarrely for my wedding which was only done so my wife's family could see it in Russia, then the next biggest is 1200 or so most views on the channel being below 100. I am not a serious content creator though I put stuff on with very niche appeal. So I don't see that the argument that having such wildly different viewing figures is that strange necessarily,
