I never liked O'Leary from the moment I 1st saw him on tv back when Dragon's Den was starting out. I don't know how to explain it, but I must have been able to "smell" his BS through the tv screen even back then. He just always rubbed me the wrong way especially with how he almost always structured deals with perpetual royalties. I tolerated him being onscreen in Dragon's Den & Shark Tank, but was always rooting for the other investors to get the deals instead of him. While I don't wish any serious harm on him (I'm just not that type of person), I hope he's made to pay for all the people he had wronged over the course of his career.

Even his Dragon's Den involvement was sleazy. He developed a reputation on Dragon's Den for bidding aggressively to win deals on the show, then going silent and completely ignoring the entrepreneurs he 'invested in', for a year or more (wouldn't even return their calls) Then, when it became clear which entrepreneurs had actually survived and started building their businesses without him, he would call them up" 'Ok, it's time to meet up and move forward'. I see so much similarities between O’Leary and Trump. And he is also the guy who speaks out for Trump. US is a fertile ground for this kind of con mans. The country being rich they get away with it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on his involvement in the Employee Retention Credit . And what if any impact that had on the cancelation of it . Keep up the good work .

I don't wanna burst the bubble, but this is hardly news. O'Leary was asking for you years ago to pay for tickets to come see him in get rich seminars.

I only ever knew about Kevin O'Leary as some small time Canadian millionarie on Dragon's Den. I heard a little something about his run to be Prime Minister, but didn't pay attention. So I was really surprised when all of a sudden he's some big name celeb in relation to Crypto... Didn't realize he managed to rehabilitate his image somehow in the US. Thanks for the info in this video

I’ve been watching shark tank from the beginning. I don’t recall Kevin ever claiming to be a billionaire. The closet was something along the lines of “being the only shark to billion dollar exit in the education software industry” which doesn’t mean he owned 100% of the company.

This is the first time for me too. Mark was the only billionaire on shark tank

He always came off as cocky and arrogant which led me to believe something isn’t quite right. No one that has built something and grind acts like that

He still has a net worth of 400 mil, which makes him kind of a hustler. He knows how to screw over people with bad deals but good profits for himself, and still remain a good image. Now that is skill.
@70two41five9 ай бұрын
He definitely doesn’t have a net worth of $400 mil lol he does cameos for $1200 and tells people your his personal friend while endorsing your product. I would be surprised if he had $40 mil. Probably closer to $4 million

He’s a clown, and he certainly looks the part. As a marketer, he’s adept at promoting himself. Despite lacking expertise in economics or finance, he frequently appears on CNN finance segments. His Beanstock app, unfortunately, seems more like a cash grab than a reliable investment tool. It’s no wonder that trust in him is lacking, and the app isn’t performing well. Some might even call him a snake oil salesman. Perhaps a lawsuit or jail time awaits him, turning him into someone’s ‘Mr. Wonderful’ behind bars. Or his prison husband will start calling him "Mrs Wonderful".

That's a pretty good comparison. The main difference is that Kevin O'Leary didn't have a wealthy Dad, but they're both grifters through and through.

PUBLIC NOTE TO SELF: 12:35 Watch carefully for dividend focused funds that engage in "Grinding Capital". I believe this is also referred to as "Return of Capital" (which sounds better but, if the same as "grinding", is equally as bad) and is used by funds when the distributable cash in the fund falls short of what was advertised and expected by the investors. Obviously, if over-used for long periods of time, this would be unsustainable. The investors would gradually see their invested principal ground down as it is liquidated.

20:58 it would be very convenient for him to say he lost everything but secretly keep it on an offline wallet to avoid taxes, etc, and then after some 5-10 years cash it out when everyone just forgets about ftx.

22:33 I dunno, I'd buy his argument that he put personal cash into FTX. Perhaps the "compensation" part was getting the options, FTX was super hot at the time so an advantageous price on some equity would have been a good deal. "Take a position" is pretty typical language for investing their own money. I'd expect it to be referred to as an "award", "grant", etc. of stock if it was free of cost to him.
