@@danielhern3816 I think it's more about acknowledging who upkeeps those standards. People outside of Kpop fandom don't care about idols at all. And those people who bring up "But when [insert female idol name] did this..." are bringing up the problem only when they see that Army doesn't keep those standards for BTS and are defending them from the ones who tries. So in general, it's rare to see when female idol's fans actually say it's ok for women to act a certain way or do certain things without bringing comparisons and standing by them on their own, not when they are influenced by a male idol getting away with those same things.

I don’t get the issue anyway. Why are you hating on what grown people of any gender do during their lives as long as it isn’t indecent? Male artists, k-pop and western, have performed shirtless. I think saying there are double standards against women is absolutely true. Men can wear sexy clothes and they are hot, but women are often called whores for wearing revealing clothing. However, within the world of kpop stans I have noticed that they say “oh this is misogyny, this is a double standard” when it just isn’t. Me saying “oh this performance from said female idol wasn’t very good” and then immediately being told “well you wouldn’t say that about a man”. Like no, I would. It’s not Jungkook’s job to parent other people’s children. It’s parents job to monitor the type of content their kids are consuming. This stupid shit reminds me of when parents were trying to get a whole video game (Fortnite) banned, so that no one could play it /including/ adults, just because they couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs as parents and stop their kids from playing it. Bottom line. If you don’t want to be a parent, don’t have kids. What you’re not gonna do is shift responsibility to someone that never signed up for it. Jungkook obviously have young fans but he is not a kid no more, and in my opinion he is trying to change his image and aiming an older public, more mature one. ​​@@MODNAR67I understand that but I don't think bts have control over that, I think jungkook just wants to be himself and joke around and I can't blame him for that, at the same time he has been very honest to army, talking about the criticism he gets, how he won't stick to the maknae image forever, and that in itself is cleansing the Fandom.
