It’s not just so much easier for carrying your camera. Using your camera without a strap is so much nicer as far as handling and ergonomics go. In fact it was getting a new backpack, which meant that it was easier to take my shoulder strap off the camera and the improved experience using my camera without a strap,made me seek an alternative way to carry my camera. I ended up with a Nitze clip and I would never go back. I truly recommend taking the strap off your camera and look for an alternative way to carry it without a strap. 0:35

Hey Steve. Great video. I bought the Falcam for my M50 (in a cage), which was working out great for my cheap Mountain Warehouse rucksack (seeing as the straps weren't too thick) but was much harder to get onto my Kata camera rucksack. So when I got my EOS R (also in cage) I got another Falcam and discovered there's a big difference between having the Falcam on the left than on the right. I notice in the video you've got yours on the left. Basically, because there's only one way round that the Falcam can go, it's a lot more awkward if not painful having the two screws on the inside (right) than on the outside (left). Also, the screws all need frequent tightening. That goes for the Arca Swiss plate too - because there's one screw holding the camera onto the plate and there's movement as you walk it starts to come loose. It's not a deal breaker and as long as you're aware of it, your camera and lens are perfectly safe. I've since replaced my Kata rucksack with a LowePro and it works out better. Had I been aware of these issues, though, I probably would have stumped up the extra cash for the Peak Design.

I haven’t had mine come loose but sometimes I haven’t tightened them enough to start with and the strap compresses so I need to tighten it. Same thing happened with my Peak design ones

Super sympathetic review, thanks! I've also used the capture clips for a long time when I used to hustle as an event photographer. Thus, I could afford the high costs. But I was really curious to see what happened in the market the last years.The Falcam seems a great alternative

Great video. I have used the Peak Design for 10+ years. I have Nikon AW1 (water proof, even some shallow diving) that is still my hiking camera. It attaches to my pack strap via the Peak Design. I can actually remove the camera with one hand. The Falcam looks nice but I will probably stick to what I have and know. Competition is good for the consumer though.

Awesome and fun video as usual. Just one question. In the video, you said the a7c is your new setup for 2020. Is the an older video that you brought to your Tech Emporium channel? Or was it shot in 2023? Thanks!
@stevestechemporium Жыл бұрын
Yeah this is an older video but neither of these two clips have been updated since then so it’s still relevant. I’ve since deleted the video from my main channel. I’ll be posting a mix of older but still relevant and then new videos on here for a while.

@@stevestechemporium thanks for your very fast response! Lol That’s what I had figured. I follow your main channel and remember you mentioning in a video that you will be separating your tech videos from your main channel. Personally, I use the peak designs Capture Clip. I really like it, but the price is a tough pill to swallow. I like the alternative at a cheaper price point. Again, awesome, fun video. I try to bring some of your style into my own channel. Thanks for posting!

I have the peak design capture v3. I find it too narrow for all my camera bags. How do you deal with that ?

🇨🇦/🇺🇸... I have the Peak Design travel tripod and find that fiddly little square mount a pain! I have, and much prefer, a custom L-Bracket that has Arca Swiss rails. Because the bracket/rails span the width of the camera, it spreads the weight of the camera across that full-width when you set your camera down on whatever desk/table you put it on rather than tilting back n forth and resting at an awkward angle. Also, because the L-bracket extends much further past the 1/4 inch screw-mount point there is less of chance of LEVERED prying of that point. Lastly, as the L-bracket spans a wider... ummm... span... you can slide the camera back n forth farther to fit odd arrangements of hardware. I HATE that stupid little square that was designed in the name of minimalism. You'd think Steve Jobs designed the little bugger!

Nice video. One question: can the Ulanzi lock the way the peak design does? Thank you, new subscriber.

does the f38 knobs dig into your flesh like what david manning says? i like the f38 and plan to get those but i'm worried its going to be uncomfortable

The screws on the Falcam dig into my arm and it’s too small for my backpack straps.

Thanks for the video! Can you use the plate from PD on the quick release clamp of Ulanzi?
@leadinglightfilms Жыл бұрын
i guess you cant. ulanzi sells a plate for this. I just ordered a Ulanzi tripod along with the plate that works for PD and ulanzi. ill see how it goes
@TaylorPassofaro Жыл бұрын
@@leadinglightfilms Any update on this? Curious as well to see if the two plates are interchangeable for each system.
@leadinglightfilms Жыл бұрын
@@TaylorPassofaro if you buy the Ulanzi PD plate, it will work with both ulanzi tripod and the PD capture. It will only go in on one side into the Capture so you have to make sure you set the plate up in the right direction. Buy the plate form Ulanzi. It was like $11 after their coupon. it works quite well and stays on solid on both devices but only in one particular orientation on the Capture.
