Ben, you did a masterful job honoring 'The King' ... is is just such a shame he cannot be truly enjoyed by visitors the way he should be!
@ArtofTaxidermy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John … appreciate it. I hope people will keep bugging them to bring it down to the main floor where it was originally planned for. Right now you need to take your binoculars to see it.

I saw him while I was in Waterton over the labour day weekend. You did a great job! I really wished they’d have had him down at a lower level so everyone could have seen him better.

Love all your videos and this series! I had a question, how do you deal with that specific meaty smell afterward? I always get so ill from the smell and can't eat until a day later, so what are some tricks to clean out the smell left in your nose if you know any?
@ArtofTaxidermy2 жыл бұрын
Well first I’m not sure if I know what smell you are referring to ? The meaty smell after fleshing a raw hide ? Second : my sense of smell is not worth a crap anyway 😂😂😂
@salti31552 жыл бұрын
ohh yes I would like to know that too. I think its the smell of the fat / oils in the skin. also, literally any other unpleasant smell... I did a deer hide that was left out for a couple days.... man... it stank like hell, but the hair hadn't really started slipping yet so I went for it anyway. I could smell it for 2 days after that.
@ArtofTaxidermy2 жыл бұрын
@@salti3155 well that kind of smell is not pleasant to anyone...when it comes to wolves, bears, badgers and coyotes,, things will get worse,, specially wolves,, they naturally stink and its very hard to work with.. I guess all you can do is use a heavy duty mask and spray some deopdorant on it from the outside... there has been animals that I hated to work with
@salti31552 жыл бұрын
@@ArtofTaxidermy I had never considered the natural stench of an animal to be bad, only the smell of decay. good to know.

I agree, Where it was set up doesn’t show its true size. On a better note you knocked it out of the park Brotha Ben!

Honestly i tried to encourage them more than 10 times to stick with the original plan and gave it displayed on the main floor. Now people need to bring their binocular to see the mount. 😏. If I knew it’s going up that high end could have come up with much much more suitable ideas

Great job, poor placement for show, it needs to be down at eye level so visitors can see the tru majesty of this ole boy, I know it’s not your choice as to where the park wanted to display it but needs to be on main floor

Hopefully if enough people bring it to their attention they eventually decide to bring it back to where it was originally planned for.
