she did have a problem ,mental restarted.

I think the character was presented as emotionally unstable in the earlier seasons, particularly where her involvement with her Uncle Jason's death was concerned (Angela comments that Emma "has her own way" when confronted about her odd behavior in the first or second season). Of course, little did we realize, her sister Julia was the one who really had problems!!

I think that Angela's parenting drove both her girls to the edges of insanity. Julia took the brunt, being the eldest, and Emma made her own exit into the world of fantasy.
