Still gives me goosebumps. I loved that unique season, the music, the look.. Wish Jordan, Greg and Terry had continued into season 7. I mean they really should have kept Maggie's sister. But what a multiple cliffhanger (which also included Chase going into cardiac arrest in hospital of course).

You meant that these characters should have been kept in for Season 6. The earthquake was Seasons 5 cliffhanger.

I was thinking this same thing the other day rewatching Season 5. I guess Morgan Fairchild never intended to stay more than one season and received the special acknowledgement for the ending credit on each show that year.

Possibly the greatest season finale in any soap! Poor Terry, I loved her character, such a shame she didn't survive the earthquake! I read somewhere online that Julia was supposed to be killed off in this episode, drowned in the wine originally! I wish they had brought Julia back for the final season to take over Falcon Crest while Angela was hospitalised, I think it might have saved the series, instead of it being full of weak new characters!

Do not... Julia was returning to the series ... After appearing as a guest in a few loose episodes in the first half of this season, the producers decided, in the last third of the season, to recover Julia Cumson, but this time in a main character ... They telephoned Abby Dalton to return regularly to the series in the last half dozen episodes of the season ... Thus, the idea for the bible of the sixth season was that Julia would be temporarily blind, to later recover her sight and pretend to recover her employment in the cellar and obtain forgiveness from Chase and return with Tony, who would also return, although Tony's return would be postponed until after the first episodes of the sixth season ... But when the shooting of the sixth season began, the new producers decided to dispense (once again) Julia's character, although they kept Tony's ... They were filming the new episodes that are always recorded before their television broadcast with Julia's new plots (her temporary nervous blindness, her approach to Tony ...) when they informed Abby Dalton of his dismissal, although they kept Tony's character, to which they changed the arguments to adapt it to Julia's progress ... Abby started a campaign on television and in the press for her fans to insist and press Lorimar to 'save' the character ... '' Save Julia '' was the name of the campaign ...

That's an interesting idea about bringing Julia back to run the winery. That may have really worked. I do wonder though - at this point, Julia is a 2-timer murderer, how is she able to wander freely about the Tuscany Valley in a mink coat?

Julia's Sentence Was Reduced Too A Convent In Oregon And Later Julia Was Released And Showed Back Up For The Earthquake Episode Finale Season 5! I hated the wat they dealed with the whole Julia storyline this season... Jesus Christ, with so juicy moments they could've had (being religious, discovering another son, the whole defense of her not being herself many times like Jordan Roberts said when she became her defense lawyer. Julia and Jordan had a lot in commom and they didn't even had the decency of making a scene with them! I didn't like the way they treated us fans with such a juicy and complex character as Julia Cumson was. And for sure she is one of the favourites on this show.

My favourite Falcon Crest season finale. The UK TV network which broadcast the show transmitted Seasons 6 and 7 following this, but never shown 8 and 9. Plus, this clip gives the impression that it has been given the HD treatment as the picture quality is different to other posts of the earthquake on youtube.

my fav FC cliffhanger ...I watched it over and over again. Together with "Dynasty" this show had the best cliffhanger! A shame they killed Terry. I would have prefered Chase or Julia to die...

That was alluded to in early seasons and I thought a much more interesting angle for the character. It would also allow the audience to see a softer side of Angela dealing with a challenged child. IMO, the writers normalized Emma as the seasons went on and should have left things be with her.

@@nourmourad4158 When Angela was asked (about Emma's mental status), she would simply say "Emma has her own way." Not sure what that meant and maybe Angela's way of avoiding the question. I think she feared Emma being put away because she was unstable.

Falcon Crest completely lost it's way after this!!....The loss of Terry, Greg, Jordon, Dwayne, and the introduction of the awful whiney new Vicky and boring Skyler Kimble!!! .....and the awful synthisizer music used through out all the scenes from Season 6 onwards!!!!
