In fact when Dan was fired Morris was the interim head coach.

@Zachsvocalanalysis tell me you've never been in leadership without telling me you've never been in leadership. Just because you have experience doesn't mean your new crew will automatically mold with all of your game plans and ideas right out the gates. It takes time to build trust, to implement plans, and to get everyone on the same page. Yes, a mistake was made. But it's hardly enough of a mistake to justify moving on after one season considering, again, he has improved on several other metrics and improved our win record, being as we were a 7-10 team four years in a row
@Zachsvocalanalysis2 күн бұрын
@@nbailado87 I have literally been a business owner for 10 years with multiple employees, and I was in corporate management for 4 years before that. Being a leader means having the fundamentals of what you do downpat because you set the example for everyone under you. When you make boneheaded errors like mismanaging your team into missing the playoffs, your employees/players will, and should rightfully question you. Those people put their bodies and safety on the line while Raheem stands there and just barks orders. As a result, it is 100% on him to make the decisions that put his team in the position to win. And if the issue is the team not molding with the plan in place in a given scenario, they have TIME OUTS to let the team regroup and reorganize. This isn't rocket science. Raheem cost the team the playoffs and should at the very least be on the hot seat for it.
@nbailado872 күн бұрын
@Zachsvocalanalysis if you have that much experience, than surely you would know and have had times in your own leadership where you made a decision that turned out to be the wrong one. It happens, it's happened to me in my 10+ years in leadership. Questioning that decision is correct, no one ever said it's not. But jumping to the conclusion that he isn't the right person for one game in question, when again, he beat Arthur Smith's record who had FOUR YEARS to do what he did to not build this team. Rah has put in work, has added and let go of pieces, and is still making the changes he sees as necessary. If you lost your job because of a single mistake after making much needed improvements to a business, you would be shocked as well. He is doing what we have not been able to do since we lost Matt Ryan, which is unify our team. He deserves the opportunity to keep implementing his plan. Separately, even if we made the playoffs, our team isn't even built to make it and win the playoffs. So to even put us in contention is a pretty big deal and I believe in him and the rest of the staff to take care of our franchise going forward
@Zachsvocalanalysis2 күн бұрын
@@nbailado87 This isn't just one small mistake, though. This is like if I had to make a judgment call on a Black Friday sale the day beforehand, and the decision ended up costing my company all of their profits for the year. The two key factors in the loss. Raheem Morris's clock management and the stupid/undisciplined pass interference when they had Washington off the field early in the third quarter. I don't understand how you re-hire someone who failed in the past. Just more of the same. Some people are born to be head coaches. Some are born to be coordinators. Wade Phillips says, "Hello."
@rodneycampbell-kk1ytКүн бұрын
I agree RM doesn't know how to manage the clock... or coach an NFL team. He proved that when he was coaching the Bucs.... by the way, thank you from a Buc fan since 1976

I watched when Kirk Cousins played for the Skins and, as a fan, was asking, "why is this guy deserving of mega-millions?" Falcons made a big mistake and got what they deserved. Time to move on.

I fully blame Raheem Morris. He sold our playoff chances and for what?

It still hurts to know Atlanta could`ve had Belichick and they ended up with this guy. Is Rich McKay using a Jedi mind trick on Mr. Blank or does he just have some kind of dirt on him? What`s going on?
@kelvinbarber17652 күн бұрын
If Blank hired Belichick McKay would have been fired. Blank didn't want to fire his friend. Belichick made it clear he wasn't going to answer to McKay.

Can Penix not run he never left the pocket but once - maybe twice while Daniels was roaming around all night.
@CarlThomas-v2o2 күн бұрын
He can run
@boltonelevated2 күн бұрын
thats not his game they have two completely different styles, and that wasnt the problem.
@tree80592 күн бұрын
He can, but why would he? He doesn’t really take sacks, as a QB your job is to get the receiver the football, that’s what Penix does, that’s what all the great QB’s do and only run if they absolutely have to
@davidmurray25392 күн бұрын
His lengthy history of serious injury has dictated that he alter his approach to playing the position. His throwing action is so strong and fast that it all but negates the need to scramble. Give him decent protection and he'll hit targets anywhere on the field. He's a brilliant qb and he'll prove it with every future game. He had at least four deep overthrows last night that, with a little more air under the ball, could've resulted in two tds at least. Michael Penix, Bijan, the whole squad is great and together they're going to accomplish great things. Maybe even in this year's playoffs.

They told him not to run. They dont want another mike vick here.

9. There was poor clock management at the wnd but penix has several overthrows/ terrible throws that would have made it a different game. He actually gives me some hope though im really excited for next season. That last 4th quarter drive was awesome. (Besides muffed snap😂)

Coaching miscues started before the season. They ignored the preseason even though you had a new HC, OC, DC, starting QB, backup QB, new offense, new defense, and a lot of new personnel. Then they treated the 1st game like a preseason game, and we lost to field goals. Honestly this team overachieved based on catching some teams with injuries. Morris is not a NFL head coach who can take us to a championship. He's a motivational speaker. Make him the team chaplain and hire a real coach.

Coach Belicheck would have made the right decisions all season especially benching Kirk Cousins sooner than later. This team does not deserve to play in the post season. What happened last night was deja vu Superbowl loss Coach Kyle Shannahan smh.

I blame Raheem Morris overall for not calling timeouts in a clutch game. That's poor coaching in a game that we needed. Those were critical moments in the game that were much needed. Find a head coach and put Raheem as an assistant
@douglasbonner56772 күн бұрын
Concur that strategically Raheem failed to bench Cousins earlier. Once he got double digit interceptions it's clear.
@scottblanksКүн бұрын
That’s so bad I have to question if he has orders to tank the rest of the year after they gave up on cousins.

I wouldn't be surprise if raheem Morris is fired if they lose to the Panthers on Sunday because the Panthers are known for getting coaches fired .

Let’s rewind to the end of last season which had Arthur Smith take a Falcons team without all of the free agent hires, and with Ridder as the starting qb to 7 wins. And falcons fans were completely done with him for some reason.

As a skins fan, you would think that after eberflus got fired, all 31 teams would go over timeouts scenario. I was watching the game and was like why aren't they calling a timeout. Its inexcusable. Every madden player who are ternagers would nail it. How are you payed millions and still screwing it up is baffling.
@The.Chosen.12 күн бұрын
Yup it started with D. Malones penalty that extended the drive and gave Washington its momentum back but I blame Raheem the most. I’m glad their season is over already bc I can’t stand there playing. Not even the players fault. It’s the coaching I can’t stand to watch. The players played excellent last night and shows promise but not under the head coaches leadership.
@Rodh17Күн бұрын
This talk about firing any coach after a good year, and just might make the play-offs if by chance Tampa should loose this weekend, is in my opinion a good sign of things to come. Dan Quin's first season was only 8-8. His 2nd season the team made the Superbowl, but lost.
@JeffreyStockwell2 күн бұрын
In hindsight it is R Morris. If the field goal had been good, every Falcon would be receiving the Noble Peace Prize. The comparable situation is when Pete Carroll went for the pass instead of the hand off. Maybe the coach didn't want the Commanders to get a time-out rest.

I'm sick of seeing every other qb in the NFL put the game on their back and scramble! Not one falcon qb will scramble, what the hell is going on? Then everyone wants to blame the defense when they on the fields 80% of the game. But the blame is on Morris for not calling the timeout.
