I really appreciate for the info. You pin pointed my problem. The slot for the 20A fuse was welded and clogged and there was no fuse. So I drilled and jumped the poles with paper clip. Engine starts! Perfect now!. I Had 06 Chevy Express Van 3500 with no crank no start issue, Not anymore! Thanks!

Thanks for info! The silverado i was working on today had this issue. It was the fuel pump wiring shorting on the back edge of cab. Cab to tank clearence is very small and the wires was jammed in there. I loosened tank strap and pulled them free and fixed the shorted wire and rerouted them to keep it from happening again 👍👍

I’m having almost exactly same issue with 2009 Buick Enclave just replaced timing chains week after stalled died pcm ignition 10amp blow replaced good for week then died blew right away after I changed it I’m really hoping it’s fuel pump as I don’t see any shorts or broken wiring

About a year ago plus I found you on here and my 2005 GMC Yukon XL had the issue. Replaced fuel pump module and no more blown fuses . But now it's happening to my 2002 Silverado 25O0 HD Duramax LB7 . And as we all know Duramax trucks do not have a fuel pump module.

I have a chevy silverado 2001 that didnt start about a week after i bought it. So i changed the fuel pump and i noticed the old one was shorting on the wires from connector to the pump. They were melting together. But the pump was still working. So i tried to start the truck with the new pump and it would crank but not start so since i had the security light flashing i went and got a new key and ignition cylinder and after i put that on the security light turned off and i checked the fuse box and found a burnt ecm fuse and changed that and finally got my fuel guage to work and the truck to start. I was so relieved.

does it have to be the pcm fuse? or will it happen for a crank fuse? i have this problem with my 97 sonoma gmc as soon as i turn to crank it blows. the way you explain about taking days/weeks for the fuse to blow is the same thing i had before. check the current from the crank wire with a light tester it lights up and even when i go to crank. i have removed the plastic covers from under the steering wheel and the steering wheel itself to try and find a shorted wire. also gone under the truck and top looking for a shorted wire but nothing.

I have a 2008 gmc Yukony car wouldn't start I put it on computer said fuel pressure control module changeed that it started fine than cut off could the fuel relay fuse go out well we took it out it was broken off in side the panel how can I save money do I have to replace the whole panel or try and get it out

has to be a wire somewhere ... look for the wiring diagram for the ecu fuse

Ok so I'm having a slow crank, very slow, have to keep it turned to get it started, so I'm a check my fuses in the am!, but recently had the steering column shift mechanism replaced, the spring inside popped, that also causes starter electrical issues! Some sort of safety switch! Also been having my tighten gas cap come on in the dash, replaced it but now I'm gonna definitely look into 3 things, the fuel pump,evap solenoid and purge valve!

@@FalconsGarage yeah it was the battery! Got a new one from Costco, interstate, not the best but big baby is on the road again for $90,lol thanks for the reply! Also my terminal bolts were rusted especially the negative side! She starts up super fast since the new parts!

Envoy been at mechanics for few days, no crank/start...they monkeyed around with it and told me they kept blowing fuses upon getting it to crank...he just called said he traced the short or problem and it's a bad fuel pump!!

Mine is 15A PCM 1 fuse on a 2003 tahoe pump was replaced filter and fuel lines , it’ll run for a couple days then just blow and i replace and runs again, i think its a wiring issue. Any idea where to start looking???

Hey I saw your video we have a 98 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 engine The first thing was it wouldn’t start. I would get several jumps it would start. Overtime getting a jump wouldn’t work I replaced the Alternator Crank shaft censor Fuel pump Mass flow air censor Now it won’t even start I’ll turn the key but I don’t here the fuel pump engage. After replacing the fuel pump it wouldn’t start, after priming the fuel pump it started. The next day it wouldn’t start again. The battery is new and fully charged. Now when I turn the key it sounds like it wants to start but not turning over. I will go check the ecm fuse to make sure it’s not blown. Any suggestions? The fuel pump is brand new

you need to find the wiring diagram and back trace wires

check pcmb boost the battery with car running use your scanner i had exact same problem once my obd2 connected it was misfire in cylinder 2 replaced coil she runs great again

no mainly on this model trucks no matter the engine ... 4.8,5.3,6.0 .. havent seen this issue on the 5.7 ... dont think this trucks have a 5.7 ... not this model at least

my truck has a similar issue I was driving one day and my truck just shut off instantly just like I turned the key off and I put a new fuse in and I started it and it died about 2 minutes later so I put another fuse in and cranked and it never popped but it would start for a second then die and now it wont start at all im not sure if this is the issue because every thing I have found it seems that the PCM/ECM is bad but im not 100% sure if its the issue? not sure if you have ever seen that issue in a 99-07 5.3 because Im on a tight budget and I cant figure it out and I don't want to spend money on something that does not fix the problem

Truck went out today. Fuse 40-A/ ignition keeps blowing out. You mentioned "fuel pump/relay" and well I did mine last week. Checked relays and fuses and "fuel pump relay area on pin/plastic seemed burnt(major shortage..hot). Could rechecking fuel pump help. Please guide me. Also, I got truck working from jump start the starter(truck worked a couple of starts). I replaced starter and when done and ready to start it ended blowing the fuse again. Please guide me on what wire/area this shortage might be located from your experience in this kind of issue. I have a 1997 k1500. Thanks in advance.

I believe that fuse is connected to the towing conector. So you might have a short back there. Either way I would try to find a wiring diagram to tell me exactly what all that fuss is connected to and start checking one by one.

This fuse powers the computer. So yes it has to be in and working for the car to turn on.

I have a 2007 gmc yukon 5.3L no blown fuses. I did remove the starter relay and jumped it, it did crank but no start. When I flip the key into the on position the fuel gauge doesn't move. My fuel gauge needle didn't give a correct reading before this happened. What do you think?

@@waterzonegt9179 Not yet, I can hear my fuel pump turn on. I can't lock/ unlock the doors with/without the remote. Radio, lights, and windows work. I'm gonna see if they're a way to test the bcm. I'll come back with an update once I figure it out. Hopefully it helps someone in my situation

@@eduardomaldonado6728 Not yet, I ordered the ground strap, the negative battery cable that goes from the battery to the cylinder head, and the body. I'll be replacing it tomorrow 12/03/22. As soon as I figure it out, I'll post an update. Hopefully it helps you and others with the same issue.
