I have this car and looked for a video, just intall the belt. So many crazy video's. This video is for full tensionor replacement& full of info. . For just the belt replacement. Remove inner RH fender. There is a 14 mm nut head cast into the tensionor. Attach 14mm box end wrench to the end of the tensioner. Through the small space above the crank pulley. Easy pezy.... So many videos showing the hard way. If you look at this video, you can see the cast in bolt head on the new pulley he installed. He talks about in this video and shows the wrench end of the tensionor. Great Video @Falcon

Can you also remove the belt through the hood part opening of the car, or does it have to be through the fender area as you describe when using the box end wrench? I have never done this before so I don't know if you would consider leaving this up to the pros of so? BTW since I don't know much about cars, can you tell me what part of the nissan he removed, to be able to access the tension assembly? I take it it was not the fneder part right? Thnaks for any help!

I just replaced mine today and I guess my hands are too big because I had to take the alternator aloose and rotate it out the way so I could get my hand in there to line the tensioner up. Also, the tensioner can be taking out from the bottom. I took mine out through the too like the video but trying to line it up I dropped it and it fell out the bottom lol. So yea it came be removed either way. Just depends on how high you have the engine jacked up to get it out the bottom.

not possible that's what the belt tensioner is for ..if the tensioner is going bad replace that but you cannot just make it tighter

Hi there, I own a 2010 2.0l Nissan qashqai. My AC was recently replaced, and I've just replaced the belt tensioner. Unfortunately, I noticed a considerable amount of bounce from the tensioner on the belt. This bouncing increases when the AC is turned on, but the bouncing goes away when you accelerate. I'm concerned the new tensioner and belt might weaken too quickly the way it is now.
@FalconsGarage4 жыл бұрын
if it dosent squeak I would not be concern about it
@ZangetsMugetsu4 жыл бұрын
@@FalconsGarage It squeaks a little sometimes when you first start the car. The growling stops whilst you're accelerating. I noticed the compressor that was put in has a pulley that's 20mm smaller than what's meant to be there. The current belt is 6pk1208. I feel like I may need to put in a belt that's between 1195-1200mm. I tried 6pk1190 in the past and it was too tight to get in.

What happened after all? I've dealt with this problem twice now.

Did you look at the marks on the tensioner to see when it needs to be replaced? I can't tell if mine is bad or not
@rasmadrak Жыл бұрын
Late reply - but anyway: There's a raised and a lowered mark on the piece. The raised one is for a new belt, and the lower + raised is the accepted range. If the arrow points outside this (i.e not on a high or low section) it needs replacing. This can be seen at 1:10 in the video :)

@FalconsGarage5 жыл бұрын

@FalconsGarage5 жыл бұрын

@michaelmorell74514 жыл бұрын
No timing belt. It has a chain. The chain is usually never an issue. But, the chain rides on plastic guides. Those do wear down. Then you buy the kit. New chain, guides, tensioner. I just picked a used motor from Japan with 40K to 60K on it for little over $500.
