Nice taco , that voodoo blue just pops ! You present some very good information. I’m looking at a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road / maybe the Pro but haven’t yet decided, just doing research and gathering information at this point , but I’m leaning towards the off road and use that extra money to outfit it with things (like better tires as you have and brush guard / winch etc..) also not sure about manual or automatic , I’ve heard pros and cons about both . Any information is helpful thanks 🙏
@pvclassic
@pvclassic 3 жыл бұрын
If you ever plan on running larger tires then go with the Offroad not Pro. You'll be changing suspension components out anyhow so why pay for them in a Pro to only replace them with an after market kit. You get just about everything a Pro has with a TRD Offroad, locker etc but not the extra $$$$.

Lower tire pressure all means a greater contact patch with the tread to the road. Therefore more tire is touching and wearing on the hwy but gripping better off road. Like you said it fits your driving habits.
@pvclassic

Tire pressure is something manufacturers just don't want to discuss. But it's a game changer for off-road and snow/ice conditions.

I notice these tires taper in like a KO2 , i like a wide tire at the ground . Is there an advantage to why they taper ? I mean a KO2 is around 10.3 wide but only 9 inches at the bottom and for example a Nitto Ridge grappler is basically true to its 12.5 inch width . I dont get why they taper in at the bottom ?

Good. There are better rain tires, only these are mud and snow tires. If you're in alot of rain you may consider a rain tire over a mud snow tire. If you need a mud snow tires these are great.

I bought 35 inch Falken Wildpeak MT’s and drove 15k km with them. They are really tough and look awesome. Three drawbacks: 1. Weight (these tyres are extremely heavy) 2. Noise (more than I expected based on earlier MT’s I drove) 3. Extra fuel usage: +20% compared to BFG KO2’s same seize.

Man, if you can that's a great option if you don't have to have MT's year 'round. I live at 7200 ft elev and the slightest rain our dirt roads get mucked up. I run the Falken A/T's on my wifes SUV. Another great option.

@@pvclassic appreciate the opinion. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we get rain year around and maybe a month of snow so I'll definitely take that into consideration. For making it just a weekend ride I wasn't sure if it was worth the inconvenience. I read Toyota has a program where they'll pay you $400 for your stock tires from the jump if you decide to switch them out from the lot. Deciding if they're worth keeping around.

You lost every bit of credibility when you said inflate your tires 55 psi. Wow... basically half of your video should be titled: how to ruin your tires and create a dangerous driving dynamics. Your Tacoma is probably suppose to have 29 psi in them. Maybe a touch higher if you are increasing your load rating on your tire. Like 35 tops.... 55 you’re gonna die... not to mention you are causing significant uneven wear. This is horrible information to spread. I’d recommend taking a look at your door sticker.

Lmao, man did you miss the point. Note this was a 5k follow up? Go watch the first vid where I explain this isn't a hwy vehicle. It's a mountain town and hunting truck. Hence the low tire pressure.
