_I’m NOT an expert. But I’ve been told that hair-serum type products can combat humidity related frizz but hair masks, weekly deep conditioning treatments & leave in conditioners help w/ dry air frizz. Both involve the cuticle but doing diff things._

Hairstylist here. Flyaway, aka dry hair craves moisture. Anything that seals in moisture can help. U tend to see stick balm products that tame it but having a good conditioner and styling product like the living proof definitely helps. ❤

If anyone has super crepy under eyes this time of year, the Wander Beauty baggage eye claim eye patches work really well! Once I pull off the eye patches, I drip some of the serum still in the packet back onto them, and they go back into the package & in the fridge for use the next day. It's almost as good as botox in my opinion. . .

Hi Shelley I have super dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin all year round, but in the Winter it’s really problematic (it can crack and bleed etc). I have to moisturise head to toe all year round, but I layer more and change my products up too. A few tips and products I love are: I use multiple layers of toners and essences all year, but in Winter I change up the products. Some I love are Jin jung sung soothing moisture essence and omega serum (both 150mls) - great INCI lists and hydration with moisture Mary and May idebenone cream essence (bi phase) - a powerful antioxidant and some moisture These three are more moisture than the Missha for reference. A urea body cream is a best friend in the Winter and using at least 10% gives a mild exfoliation without any dryness/irritation. On my cuticles, feet, knees and elbows I use a 30%urea cream with excellent results. It’s better for me than oil or BHA. I do use a balm over it for occlusive abilities and a more intense treatment a couple of times a week. Instead of body lotions I switch to body creams or balms over my urea lotion for extra moisture. I use a really rich balm under gloves overnight for my hands too. Adding some oil to face creams or body creams can really amp up the moisture in products you’re using up that are too lightweight for this weather. A few favourites are: Altruist 10%urea body moisturiser SVR 30%urea cream Aveeno PHA body balm/cream Doublebase flare relief Aveeno dermexa baby cream Paula’s choice balm for lips and body is the best overnight lip balm I’ve tried and I have tried a ton. It’s waxy enough to stay on the lip’s till the morning and really does keep my lips soft/comfortable. I live in Scotland so we get cold wet windy weather 😂and these are what work for me. Best wishes x

Dry skin saviors: Laroche Posay Lipikar line, especially Triple Repair Cream and the new foaming cleansing oil. Hydration: Make P:rem Comfort Me Moisture Essence; Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Ampoule. To prevent water loss from surface: Jones Road Miracle Balm. BTW: Jones Road Universal Hair Balm is great for anti-static, taming flyaways!

So many products:) this is always hard for me to figure out. While I am a product junkie using more than 3 steps or so in my skincare routine seems overwhelming. If you had to pair this down to 3-4 in the morning and then again at night I would love to know what you would use.

I have been using it regularly day-and-night since it launched (as well as the eye serum) and it is so so so so good. It has made a huge difference to my lines/wrinkles and texture ... plus your skin feels just gorgeous afterwards!!! And if you leave it soak in it will work fine under make-up. xxx

Shelly you have shared so much information with us over the years so let me share something I do for my dry body skin. Get some grape seed oil, cold pressed, it works wonders and it is anti-aging as well. (It can actually be used under the eyes too). For body I actually put a couple drops of castor oil in the grape seed as well. Use all over your body and let it sink in a bit then I put Alpha Renewal body 12% cream over it. It’s amazing. As for the eye patches: frugal people alert I put my serums on, let them sink in for a few min then use a good layer of eye cream, cut some Saran Wrap and put it under your eyes for 10-15 min. Bam eye mask for free 😂 Or you can just lock in your serums then use the eye cream. I do this a couple times a week! Mature skin here Side note: I love the Cosrx Snail Mucin 96. It is so hydrating 😉

Does your merit oil spurt out and get all over everything? I've tried 2 bottles and they both did the same thing! I'd like to try it again but don't want oil stains on my clothes!
@goow

It doesn’t spurt out but it does seem to get air in it somehow. I position it straight into my palm so maybe I’m blocking any spurts. But it does occasionally get where I have to pump a few times before it comes out. (I am not describing this very well!)

I’ve been feeling the dry too! I need to look for a 7 Skins routine for winter. I’ve noticed my face actually itches when it’s dry. Ugh! Also, I put my cuticle oil on when you reminded me in the video! I didn’t even rub it in, I just let it soak and it drank right up. As for the Hoofs, I couldn’t put my finger on why I’m not crazy about H-as-H, but I’m thinking it’s the coconut oil. I should try the Healthy Hoof instead. BTW, leaving my nails undone until Thursday so my mani will be very fresh for Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks.

Hey Shelly! Your skin looks lovely! Just wondering: now that you're incorporating a more intensive routine with serums, lotions and potions, where does your own Bakuchiol cream fit into it all? Would that be the topmost, final layer under sunscreen? Or do you use it only at night? I get confused with just 2 serums and a moisture gel-cream under my SPF during the day. Love the video!
@goow

Yep I do the bakuchiol on non-Tretinoin nights. And some mornings as primer which would be on top of my sunscreen but no sooner than a half hour ish after sunscreen was applied.

I use an essence then toner( hydrating ones) 2 or 3 layers of each, twice a day, but I do have very dry skin though. As long as your skin can absorb it there are no hard and fast rules, with the exception of actives.
@goow

You can do it as often as your skin will drink it up! I do like “3 skins” every morning and 7 once a week at night (but my 7 usually makes it up to like 10 layers).

Hi Shelly. Have you tried the Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off? Every October my skin gets so sensitive it feels like I almost have a chemical burn. I stop all actives, but my skin then gets very flakey. The Skinfood mask really helps. Leave on for 10 - 15 min. Then rub the grains (rice or whatever--dont care it works) and rinse. My flakey skin is gone.

Hi Shelly! I always find something I want to try or learn something new like the 7 skins routine. I am using your bakuchiol cream and it is a favorite! I will be a repeat customer! As for dry skin, I use Atoderm Bioderma Shower Oil. I mix it with a hydrating shower gel and my dry skin is soothed and hydrated. I no longer have rough elbows or itchy, flaky skin on my shins, even when I don’t apply body cream. Do you use any lash conditioners and are they worth the money? Have you tried any of the Numbuzin products? I use several and love them. My latest is Red Ginseng firming cream.

New subscriber here. This fall/winter feels especially more dry imo. What's the order of your skincare prep?
@goow
@goow Жыл бұрын
Welcome, Kat! In the morning I either cleanse or just splash with water. Then bifida serum, then No7 Future Renew serum. Then Clarins Total Eye Lift under my eyes. In the winter, I'll do standalone moisturizer under my SPF (lately it has been Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer), or if I'm not super dry I'll go straight to SPF which right now is the No7 Future Renew SPF day cream (not available in the US as it has European sunscreen actives, but I got it in Ireland). If I'm super-dry I'll put squalane oil under my moisturizer. And once every week or so I'll do an AHA/BHA toner before serums, or a vitamin C toner. I wait at least 20-30 minutes after applying sunscreen to do my makeup (I do skin care before I get dressed and feed the cats, so that's the minimum elapsed time).

Hi… pardon my ignorance but what is “seven skins?” My skin is terribly dry.
@goow
@goow Жыл бұрын
It's basically using a hydrating toner and applying one layer after another as many layers as possible until your skin cannot absorb any more moisture. When I first started doing it, I could go 12 or 13 layers (my skin was SO dehydrated!) Most aim for 7 layers and once your skin is well hydrated it won't be able to soak up more than a few. When I'm consistent with it, I'll end up doing 5-7 layers, one night a week, and just top it with moisturizer and go to bed.
