If not for the season your bouquets are the perfect reds for Chinese New Year! Imagine them with red couplets flanking the front door, paper carving ornaments that adorn the walls, quilted jackets on people, red envelops (money gifts) you happily tuck away in a pocket, paper lanterns and long strings of firecrackers. All in that heart-warming range of orange-y-reds.

As usual,,, they all look fabulous. I get so much joy out of watching the bouquet's come together. I worked as a floral designer in my University days, and those fond memories come flooding back to me. I didn't arrange in my hands. I arranged right in the selected vases, as all standard designers did back then. The hand arranging came much later. You've been right on par every single time you post updated arrangements. You should keep this going as long as it brings you joy. Steelers..ARG!!! That was the only downfall of the video!!! lol

Thanks for the tip on the 25 degree turn in your hand when making your bouquets. I think I might have better luck with that than some of the other ways I've seen bouquets made. I also like the idea of always making bouquets as if they were going to be hand tied even if they're going in a vase or jar. I'm still learning and all these tips are appreciated!! I did it!! I cut some dahlias, placed them in my hand, turned 25 degrees and made a beautiful arrangement for a vase!! THANKS!! I'm feeling more confident, sadly in Maryland, my cutting is almost done but I'm ready for next year.

Gorgeous bouquets Danielle! I must get some Jewels of Opar seeds - they are a stunning filler. I love how you grow your cut flowers from your landscape garden. You might be interested to watch an English lady who does much the same as you in her garden. Her name is Kathryn and her YT channel is 'fierceblooms'. You and her are my top go-to channels for cut flowers and arranging.

I start out making my bouquet similar to you putting the stems straight-up-and-down and once I have about 3 or 4 stems in my hand then I start to do them all at is all at a 45゚ angle holding the bouquet more vertically rather than horizontally.

Oh my I ordered Talinum years ago for a customer and they reseeded EVERYWHERE. It took forever to get rid of them in my greenhouse. I think they even reseeded outside. (Zone 6 b) They sure are pretty in an arrangement but most of my customers are looking for a plant with more flower size.

I am in southwest PA. I would like to get started with a cut garden. Could you point me to any videos that would detail getting started? (I am thinking about starting smaller and perhaps getting to the point of doing a small stand.)

Thanks Danielle so pretty. Question. I live in zone 8. I bought the book Cool Flowers from watching your video. I started seeds and realized now I misunderstood the directions. I thought I was supposed to plant the seed 6-8 weeks before the first frost. But I think they should be in the ground 6-8 weeks before last frost. I planted Delphinium and Foxglove. Can someone please advise me what to do. Thank you. 🙄
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dorothy! Sounds like you are doing the right thing. If a plant is hardy in your zone it can be planted in fall 6-8 before your first frost. If a plant is not hardy in your zone it should be planted in very early spring 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Everyone can plant in very early spring. Fall planting is plant by plant by hardiness zone. Since you are in a warm zone you can do alot of fall planting. Anything zone 8 or lower (colder) in the glossary you can fall plant. If it helps - I'm in 6b - here is what I have sown in the fall to overwinter- bachelors buttons, ammi, dara, nigella, bells of ireland, bupleurum, larkspur, snapdragons, sweet william, and feverfew. There are lots more I could sow, but that's what I'm growing for this year into next.
@dorothyleeuw87743 жыл бұрын
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens Thankyou for that. But I won’t be able to get it in the ground 6-8 weeks before it freezes. The seedlings are very small right now. Sorry if I’m a slow learner. 🙄
