It's a good morning but Trish has to rethink if sleeping in is a good thing or not? The day is full of Elderberry adventure trying to get them preserved and the other 100 things we have to do today. BUT when you get the memo that a plum tree is in need of some picking you drop everything and run. Let the canning season insanity continue! Trish is hoping we can get it all done! Thanks for joining us today we appreciate it.

If you guys are still going to do the tomato/elderberry/plum thing -- you need a steam juicer. Look on ebay for a good used one. Practically no work. There are 3 parts. The bottom is for the water - the middle gathers the juice - the top holds the fruit. Just wash and load up the fruit. Turn on the heat and wait for the juice to come out the little hose. Drain directly into a jar and seal up. Well worth what you will pay for the equipment.

Yummm..I love to see Sarah play the "one for the bucket, one for my mouth" game she is so adorable! My mom always cut the plums, pit them and placed them on top of white cake batter. We would pour lightly sweetened cream over the warm cake and it was scrumptious! Enjoy your beautiful abundance!

Yum. Sounds similar to a European dessert made with yeast dough, rather like a pizza flatbread (add cinnamon for an open French apple 'tarte' taste) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetschentaart

Hey, those are the plums I used to use for Plum Kuggen. It's an Austrian cake. I'm sure Google would know the recipe.. They look great, you've been blessed this season with abundance. YAY! Jo Jo in VT 💕😊🍁

Damson plums are so good. Try making some jam. We also like to cook and can them. Another treat is to halve and pit them, bake them on the top of white cake. If they are too sweet, try mixing them with a little lemon juice before dropping on top of cake batter. Bake and enjoy warm.

Love those plums. Back in the day my Grandma would can the plums whole, seed and all. They were great on hot cereal for breakfast or vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yum.

Hey free is free, I would never pass the opportunity for shared produce. Feeding a family can be expensive, and preserving your own food is healthier. Great video guys, Jimmy
