You’re going to loose a lot of subscriptions. Jay Siemens, Tom Boley, Todays Angler the lindners all make informational fishing videos and amongst many others and they don’t make their viewers pay. What about the kids who want to get into musky fishing and don’t have a lot of money? You’re not going to share information with them? Help them learn how to become a better angler? It’s sad really. Every year less and less fishing licenses are sold. Kids aren’t getting into fishing and I would say a big reason is they can’t afford it. With less people getting into fishing as a guide you’re loosing your clientele if nobody has any interest anymore who’s going to pay you? If you want to make more money on your videos you should be trying to gain more viewers not turn them away. Best of luck, thanks for the knowledge I had learned from your channel in the past. I hope you reconsider this whole membership ordeal.

Hey Doug. Love the content! Just a small piece of unsolicited advice from a fellow Musky KZbinr😊. Keep the subscription based content completely separate from your normal youtube channel. Your fan base subscribes to you for a reason: Because you're talented, a great teacher and it's free to watch you. There are 100 other channels out there that are free and our subscribers already have to watch ads on our channels so muting, blacking out and pausing to promote a paid service will likely cause a dent in your fan base. I'm happy to be proven wrong but just my two cents. 😊 Keep up the great content and tight lines!

This is arguably the best Muskie channel on KZbin, one thing I loved about this channel was the simplicity of it all, straight to the point, this isn’t exactly cheap to get the exclusive and at 10 minutes in I’m not exactly sold when you guys mute out this big secrete way to work a suick, it’s a pull pause bait, what can be so groundbreaking about that, I’ve learned a lot from you guys don’t get me wrong but I think having to PAY for it all isn’t right, I’ll go back to good old JBO for now, ….. still love you guys though lol

It’s a shame brother, I get the idea of trying to offer more, but the muting and blacking out parts of your video is really pretentious. Sometimes it’s a really good idea to ask more experienced people for help, I heard about this video and couldn’t believe it. I know you are young and have found some success , please be careful with these moves, you are officially the most talked about person in musky today, just maybe not the way you where hoping for . The good news is we have all made mistakes and you will be welcomed back once you realize the image you have just made for yourself

Yeah, I guess it would maybe be better for him/them to just edit out the stuff that's for paid memberships altogether, and simply upload that for the non-paid KZbin content...and then upload the full (ie; unedited) version in the member areas. That's pretty much what I've seen done by multiple other content creators. I get the approach they're going for, but have to agree with your assertion that it's maybe *not* the reason a guy would want to be talked about.

Kinda sad that you are going to a pay service now. cant justify 8$ usd which is almost 11$ cad a month for 1 video a week when things like netflix and other streaming services with millions of hours of content are in that price range. I've watched Doug's videos for a while now, mostly for entertainment value. To this point, past videos offer some but not much in the way of actual tips...really just general information, information that's basic and that, I believe, most musky anglers know...or a least should know. Without a doubt, Doug is one of the Top Musky fisherman out there. I am certain Doug has a wealth of in-depth information that could be shared. But as mentioned, past videos have be more entertaining and fairly Basic/General information...with great shots of these magnificent fish. Doug,...I'd like to offer a constructive tip. Give us all a handful of videos that show us the type of video content we can expect...a taste if you will. Show us what we'll get for our $7.99. I fear you are going to lose a bunch of subscribers if you don't. Think of it this way, would you pay for something site unseen? I wouldn't. Blacking out and muting the should will just upset your viewers and you will lose subscribers...not to mention what ever revenue you currently receive. You deserve to get paid, just show us why we should pay $7.99 a month. Viewers,... Save the negative comments, it's not necessary. We all want to be compensated for our knowledge, Doug deserves to be paid just like you...Would you work for free? likely not. Lets be constructive with our thoughts and criticism. Just my thoughts. Stopped watching after 8 mins, you’re obviously one of the best in the world but you need to figure out a content strategy, I don’t need to say anything that wasn’t already mentioned. Mention the membership and show how it provides value then move on. Focus on making the best videos people like to watch start to finish then come up with an idea for members, maybe how you prepare for a trip or scout it out etc.

I fully support your efforts Doug. You guys who want everything for free are selfish. You are happy to enjoy the hard work that Doug and Jessie put into this without giving anything back. You are simply taking advantage of them for your own enjoyment. When I value something, I am willing to pay for it. Too many in today's world think they deserve something and are unwilling to pay for it either with money or hard work. Boats and boat fuel are expensive. Cameras and batteries are expensive. Editing work takes many hours to give us this quality experience. I value what Doug and Jessie do and I am willing to pay them for the hard work they put in. Keep up the great work DWF.
