The mandator II is extremely good but it costs 145 of fleet space which means that you can only have 3 venators of support and that doesn't give enough fighters to support it. It is good only as a defense weapon.

"They've got better (X) than us!" seems to be the running theme of the Republic campaign. I think a nice decompress after this would be to play the CIS and just steamroll everything with their superior unit roster.

CIS has (arguably) better space units but the A6 is still the best ground unit in the game. The reason why it’s always harder for the player is because the AI gets way better income each turn.

501st Journal Week 60 - Orbit of Hypori CT-2401 "Blue Star" These sieges for control of the Outer-Rim have been exhausting for the 501st but none can deny our progress. While our half of the Legion under Captain Rex was busy taking Hypori General Skywalker, not content to just sit back and watch, launched a fast, well coordinated attack on Nelvaan and managed to wrest control of the planet in short order. Quite typical of the General, those droids never stood a chance. The Republic is on the verge of total control of the Rim now and everyone knows it, which is most likely why Admiral Trench has launched a counter attack at Rodia. From what I've heard it sounds like the Admiral is launching a last ditch effort to halt our advance. Not that it'll matter as we've all but shattered the separatists's fleets in this area of space. Not to mention destroyed the droid factories as well. We're already preparing to move against the Admiral and I'm confident that we can take anything he throws at us. Some other good news is that many of the 501st are being put in for accommodations by Captain Shack, including Captain Rex for his leadership in taking Hypori. Grease Trap also made the list for his quick work in saving the command walker. It seems as if heroic actions are just a normal thing for the 501st now instead of a rarity. I guess that what makes us the Republic's best.

I think it’s the same story with the crab droid. Why make B1s when you have crabs? According to the techno union, they were very much worth their cost

Trench is my favorite separatist admiral so when he attacked like that and took the planet I wasn’t surprised at how fast he did it all

Im basically in a stalemate in my game right now. The CIS is producing Bulwarks now, and I keep having to go and retake planets in the core with my main fleet, as they keep attacking different ones constantly. I’m running out of resources, and might have to give up my conquered territory in the south-east, like Geonosis. I should also state that I’m using the full map, so it’s a bit more difficult.

The mines don't despawn. The transports are armed with a single laser cannon, and have some small combat value, so they just shot the mine down.

Nah they didn’t shoot it, the auto resolve just deactivates it or stops it depending on the situation, he needed to turn them back or on redeploy

I think Admiral Shack should split the fleet. The Anakin’s fleet has too many capital ships and you don’t use all of them. Since their hasn’t been a large fleet of separatist capital ships in the region I think you should send some up North.

My problem with auto-resolving any space battle is that it basically forces one side to retreat, even if interdiction mines have been placed and it’s only transports left, one side must flee.

As someone who has had to defend Rodia against 8 invasions (nothing on Empress Teta invasion's standing at 19 though), the Rodia map is amazing for defense...so long as you have a planetary shield. Turbolasers are nice too, but planetary shields saved my tail more than once. I've been moving much slower than you have though, focusing on getting massive fleets before I move.

Quick tip for you Shack, when you are fast-forward you can turn off the fast-forward by just clicking it again instead of pausing and playing it again

I was fairly certain the fighter conga-line formation had been fixed already, maybe in a hot fix. But perhaps I am mistaken.

The enemies likely destroyed your mine in that space battle. What I do is bring in 2 or more peltas, place the mines and then auto resolve. It never results in losses for me (given all combat units are already dead).

They should license the cinematic mode from Deadlock - but somehow add in focus selection "flags" you pick before engaging, eg focus capital, or fighters, or random, all deathclone explosions etc. That way you would have a smooth video (fighters still a little jerky). I love Deadlock's replay system. And can you maybe drop the interdicting paper bags a little further back when executing a "point blank" warp in? I get palpitations every time you drop them in gun range just behind the capital front line ...

Shack, interdictor mines dont despawn, but you need to drop another if its been destroyed, and activate it just before you click auto-resolve.

I mean its sort of whether or not you care enough to justify to yourself it was necessary for the "balance of the force". cause it can make sense when you say he was to rival the empire long enough to form the rebel alliance and kick off the movies... but we know why they did it. over the top theatrics and combat to wow the audience and sell copies. good story though. appreciate the reply.
