Honestly, there's a strange double standard in this mod, in that Space based torpedoes are unable to pierce the ships shileding, as that would be "too OP" due to generator sniping, and yet it's perfectly normal for hailfire rockets and other ground based rockets to completely ignore any and all shielding, such as in the first fight where the Hailfires tore up the TX-130s without ever scratching the shields that are the entire thing that makes that tank so useful.

Ground units don't have the hardpoints that make shield-piercing so deadly in space (Well most do, the A6 got them as a much needed nerf). A tank at 1 hp fights equally well as a tank at full hp. This is not true in space: for instance taking out the missile hardpoints on an invincible practically neuters it.

It would probably have been better, if shack bum rushed the border of the separatist landing zone and just set up a formation around it, all you need is 2 of the AV cannons and 1 laat, + the units that spawn from the buildings. And you can hold Empress Teta forever, I lost my space fleet stationed there very early on and am just holding the planet with my ground force, the ai has lost hundreds of units across 10 separate battles, and frankly I feel like just giving them the planet.

I think a pretty cool plot thread would be as the campaign goes along, your character slowly finds out through the intro about the plot to destroy the jedi and the republic, and by the end he either stops the empires formation, or fails and gets replaced by commander shed for his treason

if this campaign goes on long enough it'd be cool to see the intros get more dark and syndical as time wears on, showing how the early war optimism about democracy and the faith in the republic is starting to crack maybe even have a few remarks against the Jedi to make the viewers question which way things are gonna go in the end, either save the Jedi or side with Palpatine's plot

Maybe, but Lieutenant Shack, later Captain Shack, goes on to join the Rebellion, so I hope he holds on to that initial idealism, even if it gets buried over time.

Economic Hero, highly recommend you move him around in the core when you plan on investing in stuff. Sage Pestage. Also, kuat driveyards, clone vats & Rotana industry's makes things alot cheaper for you :p

Republic at War with the mass fighter swarms aye, definitely an awesome mod for its time but AoTR, EAWX, and Remake have iterated a ton on the experience provided by that era of modding.

I remember that old Republic at war series. First series of shack's I watched. Feels so weird that it was so long ago now.... I feel old and I'm not even into my second decade of existence. Only downhill from here on that one. But the nostalgia is nice

7:23 Actually you don't because they act like an X-Wing in AOTR, they will fly over the Impossible terrain by themselves. Rather than going through an enemy minefield, It died from enemy units finding it and send their units to kill it. You see the blip of the LAAT on the Mini Map disappear when it gets shot down.

Shack I know I'm a bit late to the party but the LAAT in that first battle flew appropriately. You can see it on the minimap go over the terrain like it's supposed to with no further input from yourself. The problem was you left it unattended and there were enemies over there that probably tore it to pieces.

Personal Log, Archfield 002 Our benefactors asked for a progress report on how the independence effort is going, but I have to admit that I am unsure what to tell them. Liberty's efforts to free Empress Teta from occupation have gone off without a hitch, but in exchange we lost our holdings on Tatooine to a combination of some sort of commando raid and a large invasion flotilla led by several Jedi. We've also lost our land holdings on Vulpter as well. I suppose the only consolation I have is that the majority of these lost land troops are mechanical, rather than biological. That's enough of what I told the folks in charge, though... The nature of the republic's supposed "Grand Army" gives me pause. Who would be cruel enough to build an entire army of living, breathing beings just to fight? It seems irresponsible at best and cruel at worst. Droids can think, as well, but they can also be backed up so nothing that matters is lost when they're "killed". I know that the Trade Federation in general and the Techno-Union in specific was a loyal trade partner with the Republic before the war started, so it's not like they couldn't have developed a droid army themselves. This all isn't adding up, I guess I'll have to call up some of my old RJF contacts to see if they have any information. I'm not hopeful, but it's my best bet to be able to find something to work with. I finally got my brandy, and I'd be lying if I didn't say it's buoying my mood. I've been too busy reading AARs and analyzing tactics to touch Redeemer beyond some basic integration experiments. So far, nothing has been truly successful. Don't forget for your commando raids don't just use Delta squad but pair Ayla secura with them as she's a stealth unit and can give a protection buff. You can cycle them in and out on all but the most fortified of planets

Ive started my own campaign on this and I've just went and built a mantador I, let's just say, tatooine kinda got plug walked over, dooku is dead by the hands of multiple jedi Edit: the fleet over tatooine was much larger than the one shack had go fight, 4 providences and God knows how many rescusants, none escaped

Thing I am noticing pretty quickly. The Separatists have acess to a lot of their later war kit, pretty much at the start. (Ie, the crab droids, providence class ships, etc)

Fun fact about the Hailfire droids: In canon, they were actually circulated out of CIS production because, even though they had fantastic alpha strike capabilities, they were essentially useless after one or two volleys, due to running out of ammunition. Sadly, this is not reflected in the game, so they just keep spamming like rockets are blasters...

I like that this mod adds in battle buildings that give you reinforcement tho I feel like it shouldn’t be easy for attacking forces to use them. I feel like the amount of buildings planets can hold is highly limited and this seems like a cool workaround

I'm not brave enough to turn on cruel AI, but on a regular campaign, you can punch through somewhere near Kashyyyyyk, the land of infinite Ys It allows a direct connection between your main two zones of control, and you can cut the confederacy into two big halves simultaneously. The AI likes to throw so much into Empress Teta and Kashyyyk that I literally just build more ground troops to defend them and wash my hands of the space control.

Just started my CIS campaign on admiral difficulty, currently using a blitzkrieg manoeuvre in the outer rim with the help of the Malevolence however the Republic scum are trying to hunt it down with bigger fleets so it's being riskier to use her the deeper I go into the core worlds.

Build the Jedi Temple and the Anaxes War College. Both give more units, that you definitely want. And build the Rothana Heavy Engineering and the KDY building. Both make your units there cheaper

Like the battles are coming to a close, Order 66 happens, and Captain Shack stays for a short while with the Liberation before departing with the Venator off to join Kota's warband. Admiral Shed takes his place for the rest of the campaign.

Might not be the best option, but you can repair your subsystems. Just vigorously click your subs on the Golan and you may just survive. It's helped me survive a donut or two.

I mean.....if you kill the Jedi you get Tie fighters and Victory class Star Destroyers (probably other things im forgetting), but keeping the Jedi you get to keep them. A Interesting choice to be sure. Edit:Shack your llat was sitting right next to the enemy landing zone, and got shot to death while you where looking at the explosions.

Shack build dreadnoughts and upgrade all your pdf dreadnoughts into carriers. Having a solid line of dreadnoughts will greatly benefit you until and after venators and victories classes

Shack I recommend you build ground troops on Kuat and move a Jedi their to defend because the sepies do have steath units. For example ventress. also don't have 3 jedi in a the same space force. same with the guy at Coruscant that lowers prices just don't have him in space at all just move him to Kuat.

Does anyone else think it's dumb that ground unit torpedoes and rockets can pierce shields but space born ones can't? Like if you're going to claim it's for balance reasons do it for ground and space not just ground because as it stands now as long as the hailfire droids have even a little bit of support the render sabers useless.

I think you should build all the unique buildings first, like the Kamino cloning vats, Coursant Jedi temple, mon cal super station, even Kuat shipyards too
