Fall Out Boy's Patrick and Joe Talk 'MANIA', Gaten Matarazzo, 'Soul Punk' & More | PopBuzz Meets

Ahead of the release of their much anticipated seventh album 'MANIA', dropping January 19th, we caught up with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and Joe Trohman to talk new music, some classic tracks and that hilarious video for 'Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)'.
Fresh from an intimate (and sweaty) gig at the tiny Electric venue in Brixton, Patrick and Joe sat down with us in a very swanky East London hotel, covering everything from the upcoming 'Take This To Your Grave' 15th anniversary to Patrick's reflections on his solo album 'Soul Punk'.
Plus, we think we even managed to score Gaten Matarazzo an invite to a FOB gig after his recent cover of 'Sugar We're Going Down'(you're welcome Gaten).

Really good interview! I was sorta expecting an interviewer who didn't really know anything about the band/record and who asked a bunch of standard superficial questions due to the name 'PopBuzz' (which I'd never seen or heard of before) but it was really great and really detailed as far as 15 minute interviews go. I like that they mentioned Soul Punk because its a good album- but dudes.... Joe just sits back, interviewers really need to remember Patrick's a motormouth and you need to work to actually cover both people you're interviewing. If you're talking projects from the break maybe mention With Knives, Joe sang on the Schadenfreude EP... even as trivia.... I would love to see an interviewer even gently rib Joe and Patrick being like "Oh Joe, you ever want to come and steal Patrick's thunder?" Maybe it's just my own little affection for that Save Rock and Roll telethon video where Joe is audible for the backup vocals and it's just GREAT.
